Actually, in the new Doctor Who, so far, that's exactly what's happening. Kinda scary.

I'm all for giving the guy a chance but I'm a little trepidatious about having a 26 year old as the Doctor. I could deal with a mid to late thirties Doctor but any younger than that just seems at odds with the resposability and experience that goes with being over 900 years old.

Still, I'll just have to wait and see how it plays out. Hoping for the best.

I know that a lot of people were very cautious when Peter Davison took on the role because he looked so young compared to a lot of his predecessors. (And coming after such an iconic Doctor what was portrayed by Tom Baker - hmm does all this sound familiar?)

But I think he pulled it off, there is something about a young person playing an old personality that if Matt can do this will come across really well, imo.

Do you mean actor wise or acting wise?

I only ask because I've found as a rule that they over the years have always tried to make the next Doctor as different as the guy before him.

Look I'm sure Matt knows exactly how he wants to play the Doctor and while I will miss David terribly there is that not-so little kid part of me that can't wait to see what the new guy can do. smile

Sometimes I feel the doctor is just getting younger with every regeneration and pretty soon one day we will have a teenager doctor, how scary is that?

I had that same feeling, actually. Except for the 5th 6th and 7th doctors, they all seem to go from older to younger. Maybe a side effect of regeneration? neutral
