I know a lot of you here are musicians, but even if you aren't, come here to talk about and appriciate the gear of our favorite band.
Currently James LaBrie is using a Neuman K 105 live microphone and uses BLUE mics to record with. I haven't heard of either kind, but I'd love to try them. I've sung with Shure mics (which I honestly didn't care for), Audio Technica mics (which r0x0r) and a few AKG mics. Oh, and by the way, even though I might sound proffessional talking about this stuff, I just like to sing on my own and not in front of audiences. sweatdrop

Sadly, as much of a fan as I am, I know nothing of the equipment that the band uses. I should begin studying about that.

I'm not much of a gear-geek myself. Guitar-wise, if it sounds good and feels good to play, then it rocks, no matter what brand it is. m/

Well....
I can't say I know nothing. I think I know a fair amount. neutral
Well I definetly liked the looks of that Korg Oasys he had. Also the other one.... The big one... can't recall what it was but some kind of analogic electric piano or something... Moog, was it?
But the most wonderful piece of equipment I have ever witnessed, was the Haaken Audio's Continuum Fingerboard. I fell in love that night I saw it. heart

I just started playing guitar so I don't even have an electric yet. cry As of now all I have is a Washburn acoustic. Nothing special, but it's not crappy either.
I'll probably be getting some form of Ibanez for Christmas. All the Ibanezes I've heard I like, and Steve Vai is my favorite guitarist and if it's good enough for him, it's good enough for me. Gibson is a second choice.

John Petrucci is God soulexposed I'm not much of a gear-geek myself. Guitar-wise, if it sounds good and feels good to play, then it rocks, no matter what brand it is. m/ Eheh...heh....Im the resident guitar geek as far as gear goes.... sweatdrop xd ...not so much in playing skills though sweatdrop I mean, c'mon, who do I worship? Whats my name? And how much do I know about guitars? 3nodding think you might be in for some competition on the resident guitar geek! i tried one of petrucci's signature 7 strings the other day and it seriously blew me away how lovely it is to play. they dont look amazing, quite plain, but the playability is incredible!! petrucci's sponsored by musicman so they're pretty much the only guitars he uses, and myung uses yamaha basses (i also tried his signature 6 string bass and that was gorgeous to play too). Petrucci uses mesa boogie amps and a hell of a lot of effects! and mr portnoy uses tama drums, but i dont know much about drums.

I decided to buy a low-budget drum set. Nothing special though.
Millenium MX222BX set, Tama HP900PTW Power Glide Pedal (it costs more than the set itself biggrin ), Millenium 20" HL3 Ride (for some reason, ride is not included in the set itself confused ), Millenium 16" HL3 China, Millenium 08" HL7 Splash and I, as a total n00b when it comes to drums, decided to take Pro Mark TX747BW Super Rock drumsticks. Don't know if they're good or not, they just seemed nice. And this IS a low-budget set so... lol

I use Pearl drums and Sabian cymbals. I just need more pieces. I only have a snare, hi-hat, kick drum, and crash cymbal, and I've been playing for 5 years. Stupid lack of money...
As far as my guitar goes (which I recently got. Yay!), I use a Jackhammer distortion pedal.
