Mismatched eyes widened in alarm at her lord’s actions. She had not expected the embrace because in all actuality, with the fierceness he had shown her, she had fully assumed that he was going to shake her into believing what he said or release a three hour lecture on why she should let the past be. It was mighty kind of him, Aya thought as she smiled and relaxed. She closed her eyes, accepting the comfort Guyy was trying to give her. She needed to calm down. She couldn’t panic. Not right now. Perhaps later, when they were in a safe place she could scream all she wanted. Right now, she had to keep her mind on the situation at hand.

“Why is this place making you remember such depravity? It isn’t right.”

But then, Aya thought as she opened her eyes, but then he didn’t know just what she had done did he? He didn’t know just how much of a horrible person she truly was. Her heart stopped for a moment (or at least it felt like it) as she realized the delicate intricacies that had been woven into the fail safe spell. If this spell was going to work the way she thought it was going to work, then Guyy would soon find out her terrible sin.

Aya didn’t even register his question. The spell was hard at work in enhancing the madness within her. It contributing to the fear, the pain, and the chaos that dwelled within the normally stoic Ice Queen. She could not hear anything. She could not see anything. All she could perceive were the multitude of questions and doubts in her mind. Would Guyy look at her the same way her mother had once he saw her sin? Would he call her a monster? Would he act the same way as those priests had? Would he think her a danger to his precious clan? There were so many woulds entangling themselves in the already chaotic mess in her head. She didn’t even realize that her breaths had transformed into frightened pants. Her eyes were wide and unseeing.

No. No it can’t be. He wouldn’t. No. No. No. No. No.

“No!” Aya screamed as she roughly pushed Guyy away, her strength fueled by both madness and panic, “he wouldn’t! He wouldn’t!”

“Are you sure about that?”

Aya’s eyes widened at the voice that echoed throughout the temple and she stepped back. That voice…she remembered that voice. It was him. It was one of the priests that had branded her. She took several steps away from her lord, eyes alit with several emotions. Anger, hate, pain swirled in her mismatched eyes but the most prominent was fear. She feared him. She feared that he would fear her just like her mother. And this was why she kept it all a secret wasn’t it? So that the ones important to her wouldn’t look upon her with those eyes again.

“Stay back,” Aya whispered as she took several more steps away from her only ally, “stay away from me!” she lashed out at him and then she fled in a blind panic. Away from the temple, away from Guyy, and away from her haunting memories. She was fast, years of training making her body move automatically, and she still had enough sense in her to avoid the clearing. It didn’t do her any good though for the moment she passed that intersection, the road changed and she ended up in the place she didn’t want to be in. She shook her head as she turned away only to be confronted with the same view. The exit was nowhere in sight. How could this be?

“No. No. No. No. Stop. Stop it,” Aya said again and again as she clutched at her head. There were so many noises. So many voices all screaming and laughing at the same time. Murmurs and whispered, dark smiles and painful sobs, a determined scream and a fury filled one. It was all too much for her to take and she collapsed on her knees as she tried to make herself smaller in an attempt to keep them out. To keep them ALL out. She trembled as the scene before her was enhanced to her eyes. It felt like she was there, like she was a child all over again. There was Maya, looking at her. Her mother was tied to a post, trying to reassure her. And the priests and priestesses of Cybelle’s temples, the ones she had thought of as family, surrounded them like the soldiers of the Adelhyde Society had.

She hadn’t been able to escape that day. She’d been caught and brought back to her cell. Two weeks later, she had been brought to this very clearing for a ‘task’. They made her torture her mother. They made her laugh too, as if she was enjoying causing such pain. And they made Maya watch. She opened her mouth and began to laugh the same way she had when she had been cutting off her mother’s finger. It was low at first before it became a full blown laugh of madness. Tears stung her eyes and freely flowed down her cheeks but she didn’t even notice it. All she could see and hear were her mother’s scream and the blood on her hands, on her white dress, on her face…

Something inside her broke but she was far too gone to realize what it was or why it was so important. Was it important? Maybe. Maybe not. She was laughing now. Was that important too? Her mother was screaming and her sister was crying. Did she cause that? Should she apologize? What did she do? What did she do wrong?

“AHAHAHA! I can't stop! HAHAHA! I'M SORRY! HAHAHA! MOTHER! MAYA!”

Guyy growled silently at the scene, glaring at the chains, the walls, the thick door and the still and almost unmarked body of young Aya's captor. It wasn't fair. It sent cold shivers up his spine just to think of the mental anguish she must have gone through. The damage must have been deep and scarring. And he had never once suspected... He had always just thought of her as a high lady from a noble background. In his arms her breaths became short and sharp and he wondered if perhaps in the privacy of the illusion she was actually going to let herself cry for the crimes committed against her.

He looked down at her and quickly realised that they were not the broken sobs of lady in distress but the quick ragged breaths of pure terror and panic. He had to guess she had been repressing a lot of what she was looking at and despite her skills, mental barriers were the easiest ones broken. Her wide, mismatched eyes burned with so many emotions at the same time. None of them particularly good. He'd been given looks like that repeatedly since his teenage years. It was the same look all those girls gave him when they realised who he was and that he was the last, wicked face they'd ever see. She pushed him away firmly and stepped back.

"Aya, who wouldn't do what? I'm not going to hurt you, you know that right?" he said as soothingly as he could. But he doubted she even heard him. She was fully caught up in her past, just as she had warned him she might be. So this is what she had meant. "Easy Aya, it's me, your friend. You're safe with..." he didn't get a chance to finish as she lashed out at him. It wasn't a very strong blow but he was tired and it surprised him. It made him stumble just enough that she could flee. He rubbed at the fresh mark on his cheek, nothing damaging but it stung, and corrected his balance before racing off behind her.

He was close enough behind her that he could feel which turns she took to leave the temple and the detour she made on the temple grounds though he had no idea where she was going or what she was avoiding. His thighs burned as he pushed himself to catch up. He had no idea what danger she was in either from this place or from herself. For the first time he gave a silent thanks to whatever had taken her powers. Had she been in control of them there was no saying what she might have done accidentally.

She was pulling ahead for a while and he was afraid he'd lose her entirely. Fortunately, something slowed her up and he was able to catch her. He broke through into a clearing unexpectedly. He could see her in it, almost screaming with laughter. But not cheerful laughter of the free, it was mad, hysterical laughter. He paused and bent double, resting his hands on his knees as he caught his breath. There were tears streaming down her cheeks as she cried out, apologies mixed into the maniacal sound.

She probably didn't even realise he was there, she was so distraught. He crossed the clearing towards her, a little cautiously. She might not take too well to his presence and he didn't want her to bolt again.
"Aya, I'm right here." He said firmly enough to try and get her attention. "Aya, can you hear me?" He reached out and took her cheeks in his hands gently, forcing her to look up at him. It was heartbreaking to see her in such a condition. Whatever mental barriers she had built had clearly shattered, letting out a flood of emotions she couldn't contain any more. "Whatever happened to you here, it wasn't your fault. Do you understand?"

Mismatched eyes focused on red ones before a light of recognition finally set foot inside of the Lady Tienade's face. She blinked once, then twice before she remembered what had happened...and what she had done. Her eyes widened and she glanced down at her lord's cheek to assess the damage she had caused before she focused on him again. Her mouth opened but she couldn't get the words out, her throat far too sore with her insane laughter to work properly. She closed it firmly and clenched her her hands into fists. She needed to say this.

"I...I'm sorry Master Guyy," she said, voice slightly croaky and shaky. She winced. She must sound as if she had just woken up. She leaned away from him, untangling herself from his hands. She violently rubbed at the tears on her cheeks, wishing fervently to erase that moment of her weakness. All it did was make her cheeks red which further emphasized the fact that she had cried. She could still see herself hurting her mother but Guyy's presence was grounding her. She couldn't succumb to her past again.

"Why is it that I always end up hurting those that I love?" she asked...him? She didn't really know. She didn't even realize that she had already declared to her lord that he meant a lot to her, "maybe the priests were right. I only bring misery and despair."

She sighed before she stood. The surroundings blurred again and...they were back at the abandoned building. The only difference was that it wasn't so abandoned anymore. That figure from earlier was standing to the north of the two Shinigami senior members. Aya narrowed her eyes as it let out a laugh. It was different now. It was larger and had claws now...it also looked like it had absorbed something. Her powers maybe? If that was the case, then it was a bad position to be in for the monster. Aya new all the ins and outs of her powers. The bad thing was that she didn't seem to be in any condition to fight. Her mind was an absolute wreck at the moment and her shield magic needed complete control to function properly.

"Master Guyy, please stand back," Aya said as it approached. Tentacles shot towards the two of them and the Ice Queen had to use both of her hands to form a strong enough shield to protect them. She let out an agonized yell as one tentacle managed to penetrate her shield and pierce her earlier wound.

"You know," the figure said in a slightly low voice, "you're with a dangerous woman. I've seen her mind and there are layers upon layers of protective barriers in there, as if she was trying to keep something in control."

Aya didn't say anything and kept her concentration on maintaining the shield against the crawling tentacles. She gritted her teeth as she ignored the wriggling on her thigh. It hurt a lot and she could tell that it was slowly digging itself further in. Why wasn't it being affected by her blood? Did it have some sort of immunity to acid? She glared and growled as she pushed back, using her stubbornness to reinforce her shield.

"Master Guyy. I can't keep this up for long."

Guyy relaxed when she finally focussed on his own face. He gave her a very gentle and reassuring smile as she came back to herself gradually. He gave her cheeks a little wipe to clear away the worst of the tears. Her voice was rough and he guessed her throat ached from all the laughing she had done. he had never that sort of volume from her before. Normally she never shouted, she just had a very scary and firm way with words. He shook his head.

"You don't need to apologise to me at all. You're not exactly yourself right now." He said reassuringly. Her cheeks burned from where she had been rubbing at them. He reached out and gave her shoulders a squeeze softly. "You didn't mean to hurt anyone. You wouldn't have hurt anyone if those bastards hadn't hurt your mind so badly you didn't really know what you were doing." he told her with a stern wag of his finger. He hadn't missed the quiet little way she had admitted he was important to her, but then she was important to him. "But they can't do that to you any more, and I have never seen you harm anyone who didn't attack you or the clan. You are in control now, not your memories. Besides, you don't being me misery and despair, you occasionally bring me a telling off but mostly you only make sure I take care of myself. Now does that sound like a monster to you?" He gave her a wide smile and a gentle pat where he held her shoulder.

As they stood the scene changed once more. He braced himself for yet another potential shock, each change seemed to herald another bad experience. But this was different this time. He turned and looked at the figure Aya glared at. It was the shadowy figure from before. He wrinkled his lip in a silent snarl of warning, this thing looked dangerous. The tentacles shot forward only to be met by Aya's shield. He stayed behind it, but it was obvious her strength wasn't at full and before long the creature managed to break through, hitting her right on her wounded leg. Her yell of pain infuriated him, and he still had a lot of anger left.

"You know what, pal? She might be a dangerous woman, but I'm a dangerous man. And I'm in a very bad mood." he hissed in reply to the low, eerie voice.

In response to Aya's warning her power was not enough to keep the creature at bay for too long he growled and his eyes went black. How dare this being hurt her?! Pushing himself close to the realm of his bloodmadness he gestured forward and a series of similar tentacles shot towards the figure. It was taking a lot of his strength, but he would not let this thing abuse her like that. His brow furrowed in concentration as the shadows flung forward, hoping to impale and capture long enough for him to physically attack.
"Aya, make a break for it. I don't want that thing touching you any more, for all we know it could be feeding on you." he hissed over his shoulder at the Ice Queen.

Guyy's own shadow tentacles didn't do anything. In fact, it only seemed to have merged with the entity. Aya frowned as she considered this fact. Intangible attacks did not do anything. They would have to rely on physical ones. She glanced down to her thigh. With her injured like this, she wouldn't be of much help and she could tell that Guyy was tiring fast. She needed to think of a plan. She shook her head to clear it of any remembrance of the past but it was a lost cause. She was still under the spell of that monster. She could still hear voices and could still feel the triangle on her back burning.

"Aya, make a break for it. I don't want that thing touching you any more, for all we know it could be feeding on you."

For a moment, Aya's concentration wavered before going back full force. She developed a tick on her right temple, easily telling Guyy that she was both annoyed and angry. Just what was he talking about? Did he truly believe that she was going to follow such an order? She felt her irritation grow further and as a result, her shield magic increased in power. She supposed she should be thanking him but at the moment, she was far too annoyed to really think about it. And in any case, she needed to answer him didn't she?

"No."

It was firm and unyielding. No matter what he did, Aya was not going to abandon him. And even if she did, she doubted that she would have gotten far with the wound on her thigh. She winced when she felt the tentacle wriggle again. She wanted to just pull it out but she knew that leaving it in the air like that would expose her to another attack. And besides, her shield would waver if she were to busy one of her already busy hands. She let out the breath she didn't know she had been holding when her sight blurred. Definitely a bad sign. She needed to end this stalemate quick.

"It's absorbing intangible attacks Master Guyy-"

"Good to know."

Aya blinked and glanced at where the voice had come from. Off to the far corner to the left, a worm hole had opened and from it came out running a man with a very furious expression. Aya's eyes widened in surprise and she was only able to watch as Caine delivered a quick and massive punch to the beast's head. How on earth was he able to tell where the head was? All she could see was a blanket of shadows. True to Caine's strength, the monster flew to the right and passed through five stone walls before it stopped at the sixth, cracking it severely. It didn't get back up. She'd be surprised if it did get back up.

Shoulders relaxing, Aya dropped her shield. Caine's aura was something she would never mistake for an illusion. It was far too overpowering, especially now when he was so pissed. Oh this was the real Caine alright. She bit her bottom lip and glanced at Guyy, hoping that he would say something. She really didn't know what to say...especially when he was staring at her like that. His eyes were glowing in the darkness and it made her feel as if she was some sort of prey.

Of course. He thought to himself as the lady beside him refused to make her escape and let him slow down the figure. Her answer really didn't surprise him, though he made a mental note to have words with her later about refusing his orders. A note he would no doubt instantly forget the instant they got back home. He decided to focus himself on attacking and hopefully taking the heat off of Aya, if just enough that she might be able to break free of the creature's hold and get a chance at attacking too. He noticed her shield seemed to grow stronger, though he wasn't sure why. He hoped it was a good reason.

Guyy grimaced in frustration as his shadows seemed only to be absorbed by their foe. He thrashed them around and concentrating on making them as offensive as possible, but all in vain. He let our a snarl of irritation and drove them deeper. As expected there was no resistance. Aya's quick words aside to him confirmed it. All he was doing was wearing himself out. His shadows were useless here. He growled and snapped them back, black becoming red as he blinked his blindness away. He hadn't brought a weapon with him, having not expected the sudden transportation to this strange realm. His eyes darted around for something he could use.

But the thing that concerned him the most was the tentacle buried in Aya's wound. It wasn't that thick, and he always carried a weapon that just might be enough to dissuade it. After all, her blood wasn't poisonous to his unique physiology and if the thing had poison in its blood he'd be safe. He hissed, turning on it and tearing at it with his long and deadly fangs, keeping his poison reserved for the time being. It might have travelled up towards Aya and without her usual powers he couldn't be sure she'd be safe from his venom. He'd pump a large dose in if it let go of her.

A voice distracted him and he looked up, taking a chunk of the beast with him. The punch thrown by the man who entered was a powerful one, and did the job nicely of knocking the figured for six. It flew across the room and Guyy was glad he had let go when he looked up in surprise, or else he might have gone with it, face first. It caused quite a lot of damage to the building though. Guyy observed the broken walls with a certain impressed expression, monster tentacle scraps still dangling from his teeth.

He looked at Aya who gave him a nervous glance before looking back to the man. He spat out the shreds of monster and wiped his mouth with his one remaining sleeve before he spoke.
"About time someone realised we were missing. I suppose you're the cavalry then?" he raised an eyebrow, noting the man's shining eyes in the dark and subtly making a move into a position that he hoped would counter an attack if it came. Aya had relaxed her defences though, so he wasn't about to attack the fellow hidden in the dark.

"A defensive stance Guyy? You wound me. Surely you know by now that I would never attack you," Caine said as he approached the two. In his hand was a small seed that quickly blossomed into a lovely crystal flower that emitted a green light. He smirked as his face was illuminated with that warm green glow, "unless of course you're thinking about a different kind of attack. That I would happily oblige you although I do not think that the Ice Queen would take to well to such a thing."

With a grin at Aya, Caine let the seed in his other hand bloom into a blue flower. He threw it at Guyy for the snake man to catch.

"That is a special herb from my garden. Just swallow the petals whole and it will take care of your fatigue. If you are unconvinced, then ask Aya. That is one of the main ingredients she uses for her healing potions. And I apologize for being late. It took me a while to pinpoint your exact location. This place is laced with protective spells, as if someone was trying to keep something inside."

Now that the Shinigami Clan Leader was taken cared of, it was time to heal his beloved's own wounds. And there were many of those, he could easily tell. Her powers were gone, sucked into the earth by the spell circle beneath them. He could take care of that easily so he would leave that for last. Then there were the shattered and cracked mental barriers in her mind. He needed to reinforce those...later. The wound on her thigh was more concerning at the moment and he moved to stand in front of her. He splayed his hand on her injury, taking great care to not hurt her further than necessary. And then his hand glowed that warm green light of the flower he was holding.

Aya let out a hiss as his hand touched her wound but the pain quickly subsided to be replaced with a comforting sensation. Caine's healing ability always had that sort of effect on her. It was as if he was embracing her or holding her hand. In a sense, perhaps it was indeed similar. She closed her eyes and relaxed as she waited for the healing to end. Once it did, she looked at Caine, drowsiness apparent in her gaze. She let out a low snort. He had probably done something. She would never have felt this sleepy especially after a battle.

"Lord Lacquer, what did you-"

"Simply sleep dear Aya," Caine said, interrupting her. He smirked and stepped closer so that their bodies were only an inch apart. He whispered the command again, nearer her ear this time and it had the desired effect. Aya's mismatched eyes wavered and slightly closed. Her lips pulled down into a frown. She was not going to let it affect her. That voice...that soothing voice. Goddess help her! Her eyes truly wanted to close!

Stubborn chit, Caine thought in amusement as he whispered his command once more. Finally, Aya's eyes closed. There was a moment of silence before she fell and was expertly caught by Caine's arms. With an almost cat like grace, the Lord Lacquer hefty Aya into his arms and turned to Guyy with a smirk.

"That normally wouldn't have worked but she was tired and her mind is in disarray. I'll fix her mentality once we get back home."

The Sidhe Lord narrowed his eyes as he looked down, pinpointing the lines where the spell energy intersected. He 'hmmed' in triumph when he pinpointed the center and with a stomp at that position, he made the circle crack. The spell circle glowed once before diminishing. In his arms, Aya stirred and snuggled closer to him. He could feel her temperature lowering. He nodded in approval. Her powers were coming back slowly. That was for the best for her body would have the chance to adjust. His method was perhaps not as strategic as what Aya had done to the dog statue but it worked for him.

"So, what do you say we head back home? Unless of course you want to take that guy back with us for revenge?" he asked, gesturing to teh fallen enemy.

Guyy knew that voice. And more so, he knew that swaggering wit. There was no doubt who was lurking in the dark, even before the seed sprung to life and illuminated him. Only Caine could be that brash and charming at the same time. The snake man instantly relaxed his aggressive posture and stepped aside a little so that he could properly greet his beloved without interference.
"One can never tell," he retorted with a weary smile. "Such a sight might just perk her up a little."

It was a testament to how much he trusted Caine that he almost entirely relaxed his guard, shutting his eyed and taking a deep breath to calm himself down. There was no way a damned thing could get in here and attack the three of them without Caine noticing and countering, and probably a whole lot better than Guyy would be capable of countering. Sometimes he rued his complete lack of magical training. When he finally opened his eyes and gave the pair of them a small sigh it was obvious in the green glow just how tired he looked. He was slightly pale, with dark rings forming under his eyes. He would never have let them see him in such a state if not for the amount of respect they commanded.

"I'll take your word for it, this time." he nodded to Caine as he accepted the offered flower, examining it curiously. It was quite pretty really, even though there was something rather absurd about having to eat a flower that make him chuckle under his breath. Still, beggars can't be choosers. He languidly tore the petals off one by one, swallowing them down like pills (something he had more than a little practise at). "Better late than never, I suppose. Hn. I can't possibly imagine what they were trying to keep in." he said with a tone of sarcasm, turning to look pointedly at Aya and smirking. The banter was all in good nature, Guyy was more than happy to see the Sidhe Lord's arrival. Especially because it meant there was someone around who could tend to Aya a lot better than he could with his limited skills.

He watched carefully as he lay his hand on her wound, sealing it up with a gentle green glow. Despite her initial tensing and slight hiss she too relaxed almost right away. There were very few people she would let touch her like that, even fewer she would let near a wound. But then, there were not many people who could go near her wounds at all, thanks to her blood's toxicity. She, too, looked tired now and as she grumbled at Caine Guyy gave a soft laugh. The Sidhe had his own ways of dealing with her without her protesting, it seemed.

After a few murmured words from Caine and after a little obvious fighting on her part, Aya finally succumbed to his enchantment and slipped into slumber. He caught her smoothly, with a gentle tenderness that betrayed just how much he cared for her without so much as a word. Once done, and with her power returned (forcing Guyy to step back a little as her temperature dropped once more), Caine addressed the Shinigami Master once more.

"Hn. Judging by the things I've seen, I think it's going to take a long time to fix her mentally. It might actually be better to let her work things out for herself rather than merely sealing her pain away again. If I were you, I'd help her learn to deal with her past. If she gains control over it, it won't be a weakness for her any more." The snake sighed, shaking his head and rubbing at his bare arm self-consciously. If anyone could help her through it, it was the man holding her now. And she would be so stubborn about it there wa sno doubt it would be a long process, even for him.

He turned to look at the fallen figure, bristling a little with anger at what that creature had put Aya through in such a short space of time. He hissed, a snarl on his features.
"Oh, I am sorely tempted to drag him back with us. I am sure everyone would delight in carving slices out of him for his impudence! I know I would have great pleasure in exercising my own personal... skills..." he growled. "But I know better than to bring a threat like that thing back into my home, into the heart of my family. Perhaps it would be wiser just to go home and leave it to the humility and agony of its own defeat. And perhaps a small parting gift." a wide and wicked grin spread across his lips as he started towards the fallen figure.

He crouched before it, unable to see it clearly at all in the darkness. It took him a moment to locate a suitable limb. It certainly felt solid enough that it should work, if he was lucky. He lifted the limb and without much ceremony, sank the full length of his fangs into it for a moment. It tasted vile, but at least if it too had poison in its blood it would do no harm to the snake spirit. Once satisfied he stood and brushed himself off, returning to face Caine and wiping his face.
"I believe I may have been a little overgenerous." He chuckled. "When it wakes up. Or rather, if it wakes up thanks to that rather impressive strike of yours, and it is susceptible to chemicals, it should have enough venom in its system that it will most likely spend several hours writhing in blinding agony. I hope. Shall we, then?" he waved a hand and smiled at the companionable man and his charge.

"Ah. I wish I could be there for that," Caine said nodding his regret. He'd noticed the tear marks on Aya's cheeks earlier and since he knew that Guyy would never purposely upset the Ice Queen, he could only surmise that it had been that thing that was attacking them that was responsible. He wasn't satisfied with that punch he had given it. He would have torn it to pieces if he had the chance. The Sidhe Lord glanced down at his beloved. Right now however, Aya's health was more important than his own retribution. Besides, he could always come back here and give it a thrashing it wouldn't soon forget.

"I've tried to get her to talk about her past but she has always been such a shy kid. She either diverts the attention away from her or finds a way to walk around it," the Lord Lacquer spoke while simultaneously pulling the body of the sleeping Aya closer to him, "But I don't think she'll let her emotions get in the way this time. I believe she's learned her lesson. I simply need to wait for her to approach me and talk about it but if she doesn't, then I'll lock the both of us in a room somewhere and force it out of her."

He smirked at that last bit. If he ended up doing the latter, he was quite certain that it would end up getting quite...noisy in the lower levels of the library. He would probably even need a new room after the confrontation. He shook his head before letting out a short whistle that disrupted the flow of the spell in the caverns. He knew that this place catered to sounds as he'd already studied the whole structure prior to coming here. A high pitch such as his whistle would disturb the sealing spells enough for him to teleport the three out of there.

"You may feel a slight wave of euphoria. Don't worry. It's perfectly normal," Caine said as he cast the transport spell. A blue circle formed beneath the two men and within seconds a wave of blue light engulfed them.

"By the way, Parvati is grounded so don't give her any good books like Biology or any cursed tomes. She's supposed to spend her time meditating. If you see her running around, then please inform me. I won't let any daughter of mine relinquish her responsibility."

And then they were simply gone, taking away all evidence of their presence within the cave...except of course the massive destruction that Caine caused with his entrance earlier.
