Househusbands...well it's just the same as housewives. If you're lazy and resentful, you're going to suck at it. Truly, I don't believe either one is better than the other. Both have equal potential for good or bad.

As far as the question about housemen , well its the same as I said erlier with house wives , once you start being a lazy good-for-nothing your giving anything you actually tell people you are or do a bad name . I know a few house husbands that are amazing guys , and total cleaning nazis . These guys are great and I think my dad secretly wanted to be one ( clean all the time , spends more time with his kids and grad kids , dose the shopping , and even dose more of the cooking and decorating) . Unfortunately in this world the people that are talked about are being talked about because they either are really great or really not. So what people on the outside come to know is usually the bad or those that are a little too over zealous. Ok I think Im done. Though reading about the home makers in ancheient japan is great . I remember reading somewhere a saying like " the emperor has power in all places of the land , except a wives home."

I wouldn't mind being a housewife. The life and work is steady and stable, not much to worry about other than keeping the house in shape and the children in order. It can get boring after awhile, which is what would hold me back, but there just seem to be more benefits that out weight that. Anyhow, that's my reason for living such a lifestyle.

Personally I would love to travel back in time with a man I love, dressed as and saying I am woman and being a housewife anywhere from late 1600's to the 1950's. Especially America, and even more a pioneer wife.

I too believe that being a housewife is underrated, but I would personally never want to be one. I would feel too constrained, kind of useless even though I am doing the important job of raising children and keeping the house in good order. The difference is that as a housewife the only satisfaction you get is knowing that you have done a good job. In work you bring home pay, get differing tasks accomplished, and have room for promotion or a raise. These all give seperate satisfactions that tell you how you are doing and that you are being a useful member of society.

I think it is lovly that we ladies don't have to sit around the house all day...knitting or somthing. We are just as good as men and we can do anything better then them. I mean, I like being able to go out and do things. I would hate to be stuck in some house all day cleaning and stuff!!!

I wish I could be one. I'd like nothing more than to ensure my children/husband could have a calm, clean, and orderly house to come home to and a loving mother/wife they can fully trust and talk to. I was not so lucky, and I wish I could make sure my children didn't have to go through what I did. Besides. I love doing chores. >w<

Girlie Hero Househusbands...well it's just the same as housewives. If you're lazy and resentful, you're going to suck at it. Truly, I don't believe either one is better than the other. Both have equal potential for good or bad. I couldn't have said it better and will not attempt it. Gender is not the issue, having someone at home to keep the household running is the issue. It's an essential part of life people want to ignore because it can be exploited. That's like saying you can't leave a teenager in the house with an unguarded can of whipped cream, because they can use it to get high.
