Did you know that the "cat" Dr. Kleiner and Barney in HL2 was talking about is actually one of the first test subjects for his Teleportation device (that was later replaced by Lamar) as a parody of "The Fly"(196 cool where they have a scene where a cat is tested in two teleporters and accidentally got his his skin and a few organs ripped apart as seen somewhere in this video in 2:29. Even Barney is terrified and still has nightmares about that cat also mistakes the sound of a strider for it. Plus before Alyx is teleported to Black Mesa East she would then realize what they meant about that cat since probably she watched that movie as well.
