On your way out of the exam room an employee hands you three Pokeballs. "Please continue to arena 3 in the park across the street. Your opponent will be Janine, stand in Gym Leader of of Fuchsia City. Thank you for participating in our test and good luck."

As you arrive at your designated arena you hear the last trainers score. "Your boldness is admirable but I'm afraid I can't give you more than a 35. Although it is important to strike first rushing in at full swing before assessing your opponent led to you losing all three Pokemon. In the future be more careful when dealing with Poison types. Good luck."

Someone silently taps your shoulder from behind and leads you in. The arena has several dark sickly looking patches of grass in stark contrast to the otherwise lush foliage. An older teen wearing deep purple ninja garb calls across to you. "I'm Jasmine, daughter of Koga, leader of the Fuchsia Gym. My specialties are poison and illusion. When you are ready to begin let me know."

((OoC: Just so you know its not quite so one sided. You are given a list of the Pokemon's movesets with the Pokemon. Thats why I included the links. Your opponent will be using Pokemon of their specialty but they wont be using their Pokemon just rentals. Its balanced to be mostly fair. Also you don't have to win to pass. You will be graded on how well you use what you're given. It would be possible to lose with all three Pokemon and still get a good score. There is a hint hidden in the text.))

Janine was good at reading her opponents. "Relax. Being so tense won't help you. You're more likely to make risky choices if you're too stressed. Get ready. Koffing Smoke screen!" She yelled out the final command as she tossed her ball forward. The ball burst open and almost immediately koffing began spewing smoke covering the field. It would be tough work for any Pokemon who couldn't deal with poisonous gasses.

((OoC: OK. Arashi seemed overconfident before. Maybe the situation is different. As for the moves they know many of their moves they naturally learn through leveling up. Otherwise to keep things simple they don't know any others (You can teach a TM or two to a pokemon once you own them but these rentals don't have any.). They can know as many moves as you like. Limiting your Pokemon to only 4 moves isn't very fun.))

"Not a bad choice but you won't get the upper hand just by taunting. Prepare sludge Koffing!" Koffing couldn't be seen in the thick smokescreen but a slow dripping could be heard from somewhere within the cloud.

Koffing deflated spraying sludge everywhere. "Flashy, but I hope you didn't waste your ace on my first Pokemon." commented Janine. She swiftly returned her Pokemon and threw out her next one into the still thick smokescreen. It was hard to make out which Pokemon it was exactly. "Go ahead and switch out yours and we'll start the next round.

Arashi threw out her next Pokemon which was also unseen by the smog. She smirked to herself and wondered what the other Pokemon was. She awaited their move with confidence in her prediction of what they were going to do. She readied herself and quickly began to ponder attacks, move sets, counters, anything she could.
