~xXx~Nikki4187~xXx~ acid synnister I feel really bad for her, but me just saying that won't do anything. I used to smoke pot every other day. I'm down to about twice a month. Weed in a gateway drug, she probaly started with that. Meth is thee most amazingly addictive drug there is out there. Coke is pretty bad too. She should check herself into rehab, unless she dosen't want her parents to know. When I had my first bad trip I woke up not knowing where I was or how I got there, after that I just seperated myself from that whole crowd of people. I just read an artical on meth and it was just horrible! If she is cooking her own Meth, then it's alot worse than you think. When people take Meth they feel like they are on top of the world. There high lasts for hours and hours, somtimes even days on end. After alot of use people have trouble having fun or feeling good without it. And once that high goes away, they feel like s**t. You should take that person to somplace where she can have a good time and not be high. She probaly needs to have fun while she is sober. I never knew anyone on Coke, but I'll talk to my old friends and see if they have some advice about that. Just because I read a artical in a magazine doesn't make me a specailist on Meth, but I think this may help her. I told her to ask a doctor for help cause they cant tell her mom and I know her mom, she is sooo strickt she would probley disown her and kick her out after beating the s**t out of her. Shes not a nice lady. And it was weed she started with. Weeds not always a gateway drug. I know plenty of people who wont do anything heavier because they realize how horrible these other drugs are. She just wasnt able to say no cause she was having a bad day and looking for anything to help her and then she kept wanting more. She lives in Utah so I cant be there for her except over the phone but she has found someone who is keeping her away from the hard drugs and he lets her call him at any hour if she needs someone. So I think shes going to be ok. Ok that's good. And your right, weed isn't always a gateway drug. But it is what my old friends started with. My friend whose I shall not name started smoking weed then he smoked PCP and now he even does Primo!!! He's tried to get me to try it , and he has taken LCD. He's not even trying to stop! He got me and my friends smoking and drinking too. I don't know why I even still hang with him somtimes. Well that's good she has someone to talk to though.

~xXx~Nikki4187~xXx~ Gabriel Orr Platinum_Behemoth252 Gabriel Orr I can't believe how insensitive some people can be. what is that supposed to mean? Exactly what is says. Someone has a problem that is not just potentially life-threatening, but a problem that will kill her if something doesn't stop it. This person's life is in serious jeopardy, and people are saying things like 'hit her in the head!' and 'oh, she can't stop because she's not strong willed'. An addiction to methamphetamines is bad enough, but cocaine too? Not one person in this guild, on Gaia, or in the world could break out of a full-fledged addiction to cocaine without help. To even consider denying this person help for 'natural selection' to take place is not only insensitive, but naive, cold, and heartless. That's what that means. 3nodding Glad someone has a good head on their shoulders. Its nothing personal against your friend. She may be the greatest person in the world. I jst cant find it in myself to find pity or sympathy for someone in that position. Plz dont hold it against me. I wouldnt be able to find pity or sympathy if my mother got in that position and i would kill someone if she told me to. I am a very devoted person to those i love but i would feel the same way. And i can say thing because me sister wuz on drugs, and my favorite uncle is an alcoholic now. And i feel no pity or sympathy for either of them. I love them but i jst dont think someone that lets themselves get in that position deserves pity or sympathy. Help them all you want but i dont think its right to feel sorry for them....and if you think im an a*****e for saying that then i cant stop that. But i wont go against what i believe...no one should.

The cannabis-using cultures in Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America show no propensity for other drugs. The gateway theory took hold in the sixties, when marijuana became the leading new recreational drug. It was refuted by events in the eighties, when cocaine abuse exploded at the same time marijuana use declined. As we have seen, there is evidence that cannabis may substitute for alcohol and other "hard" drugs. A recent survey by Dr. Patricia Morgan of the University of California at Berekeley found that a significant number of pot smokers and dealers switched to methamphetamine "ice" when Hawaii's marijuana eradication program created a shortage of pot. Dr. Morgan noted a similar phenomenon in California, where cocaine use soared in the wake of the CAMP helicopter eradication campaign. The one way in which marijuana does lead to other drugs is through its illegality: persons who deal in marijuana are likely to deal in other illicit drugs as well.
