Hi! So, I read this thing online (sorry, I don't have a link to give you) that gave this exercise. What you do is you empty your mind of all and any foundations. You start with what you want the landscape to be like, then use symbols for certain thoughts and fond memories. So here's the deal for the HP forum. Its a bit condense, since the orignal version is a little more self involved and would take far to long to describe and/or explain in a post.
What you do is you pick a Harry Potter setting. Then, you take your setting and you place your fondest memory and place said memory in an object related to the place of your choosing. It can be anywhere, the Burrow, the Hogsmeade, The Quidditch Pitch, even the Ministry of Magic!
For instance, I've made my inner mind shaped like Hogwarts Library. My fondest memories are set in the first row of books, just waiting to be read again! As well, the books have moving pictures and words, telling what we're saying. Like you know, normal books. Well, normal for Harry Potter anyway. 3nodding

Is this how to play?
One of my fondest memories is sitting in the Ravenclaw commons at night in the winter, savoring the chilly wind and comforting glow from the fireplace. I am relaxed with a nice navy blue blanket twirling a huge quill while leafing through my Charms textbook.

Ooh, nice idea.
Flying around the towers on my broom after curfew, with the stars twinkling down at me from a pitch-black, moonless sky.

Always the reserved and edging-on-macabre-and-insanity person, aren't you? I would join you, but currently I'm in Snape's detention. Ugh. He's making me scrub off Neville's stains...and you know how that's like...

Hm.... I think that the premise would be something more like this...
I choose The Burrow, a nice, safe place that practically lets off an aura of family togetherness, and my memories take the shape of beautiful fine china on the table, memories of good times with the family and a promise of more to come.

Did you mean we should take one of the places in Harry Potter Book, and place a real memory and feeling of that memory in it?
If so then:
I Choose the Hogwart's Slytherin Common Room. Despite our supposed nature, the dorm is a place where true friends are made, and memories are shared among us all forever. The couches and chairs now sit full of first and second years, nervous, but I remeber when these rooms were empty at night, and people would sneak down here to talk so others could not hear them share thier secrets. The couches still have that musty odor that reminds us of life and (For some) home. The fire blazes brightest when no one is there to restrain it, and the heat soaks up from my toes, reminding me of my most joyus memories.
((I based that on the memory of my Grandmothers house. The Couches are the symbol of every memory I have of that place, and the fire is actually how I feel when I stand before my grandomothers fire. biggrin ))
If thats wrong, then Oh Well, I had fun writing it!

This is a nice idea. smile
I would choose the prefects bathroom and all my memories would be hidden in the water that fills up the tub. Unfortunately, Myrtle likes to go through all my fond memories and begins to whine about them constantly. That's the only downside. But when I'm in the bath I can soak in my memories and let them wash over me.

I choose the Divinations room, a room of calming scents and the promise of the future, and gaze into the crystal ball that represents all the times Scottie has told me he'll love me forever.

I am in the Room of Requirement, safe from anyone who would otherwise disturb my ponderings and thoughts. My memories are floating through the air with my Patronus, taking on shapes of their own, and calming my nerves and sense of sadness, as I watch them go by, and smile at all the good things that have happened so far and all the good things that I imagine will come....
