Her biggest clue was the boy's drumstick. When Daimhin arrived as an unexpected Christmas present for both Madeline and Taig alike, he posed a predicament for the mother to provide a little birthday slash Christmas gift. They were otherwise on their way to the family gathering, and stepped inside the music store with the hopes of finding something musical that would also be geared toward a toddler.

Taig shuffles boredly through the store. Instruments are stupid. They require way too much practicing. If he had the patience for it, he'd take up guitar and use his mad skillz to woo some ladies, but he knows himself a little better than to fool himself into thinking he'd actually practice. That.. and his mother called him out on it when he tried putting a guitar on his Christmas list.

So now, he thinks all instruments are stupid.

Being the annoying little kid that he is, Taig plinks away at a keyboard that someone has left on, and creates an awful noise. Madeline tugs away the boy's hand with a scornful look, which is just shot down by the deer's more scornful temper and defiance. Maddy sighs as she redistributes Dai's weight against her hip. The other boy is better behaved, and for that she is thankful; he nibbles on his drumstick and watches everything in the room with huge eyes.

Maddy smiles down at Issy and immediately swoops down in a crouch, to bring Daimhin on the same eye level as the other hooved child. "Hello there, precious!" the woman coos, and you can tell she probably wished she had a girl of her own. Nope, instead she has two boys, and manleh boys at that.

Dai slowly releases his drumstick from the nyomming mouth, and pointedly looks Ismerauda up and down. Pretty! A small smile crosses his tanned face. He scrunches up and folds himself over to try and reach his own feet. He does, and he tugs on them with his chubby fingers. See? Same!

Meanwhile, the ultimate brat continues his rampage. He makes it over to the sheet music, and glares at all the symbols he can't make heads or tails of. Stupid! He thumbs a pile, daring it to fall over.

Dai is very pleased that his pantomime got he point across, and thus lets a rare, fuller smile cross his lips. He releases his white hooves and his feet fall back down, clicking together as they do. He likes that sound, so much so that he clacks them together once more.

Maddy smiles warmly down at the little oxen, and bops him up and down in her arms. "His name is Daimhin, and he was born on Christmas day!" she explains with obvious pride. "And my other boy is- oh dear."

Madeline sets Daimhin down and stands up to get a better look around the room for her troublemaker.

"Mm?" Taig raises an eyebrow pointedly. "Lo," he mutters as he turns away from Adele, clearly not all that impressed by his appearance. More people around means an increased likelihood of being caught, and even if you're not doing something wrong, the bigger the group, the more people seemed to think they were up to no good. Least, that's usually how it was on TV.

He waves his black fingers at Adele to try and dismiss him. "Ai'mmakin somethin go boom, so gerrouff m'way."

Brilliant! Hers make a slightly different noise than his! He waves his hands in a way that urges her to do it again, and he even demonstrates himself to urge the point.

Taig snorts in a scoffing sort of way. "No Iwoawnt. M'mam woulbe th'one ta, iffin attall." The lanky boy pushes at the sorted stack of loose sheet music, and, sure enough, the pile slides from the middle and everything goes fluttering and flying. In a heartbeat, the boy has sidestepped the disaster to move on to the next, and to also leave Adele behind to possibly be incriminated.. if not for the deer boy's mischievous and satisfied grinning.

Taig stops in his tracks and whirls around to almost knock right into Adele. "Onlyiffin you'rra pansy andon't stand up for yuself!" he snorts again and continues his rampage, going for the strings next.

A hand darts out and catches Taig's wrist. He goes to tell off his mother, his face already screwed up in anger, but he realizes it's the (really hot) daughter of the storekeep. She glares at him scornfully, and he, after recovering from momentary shock, glares right back.

Daimhin finds his hooved company very intriguing. He brings his drumstick to his mouth and chews it thoughtfully. Can she do music? He tilts his head. She looks too dainty for his hardcore tastes. But she'd probably make a fantastic singer, with all the right makeup. Unfortunately for him, his analysis is trapped in his brain - he hasn't yet learned to verbalize his thoughts, not in this form, anyway.

Daimhin is very impressed. She knows what his stick goes to! He follows close behind his hooved company as she leads him to a lovely treasure he'd long forgotten about.

"Sophia!" snaps the balding man at the cash. "Do not lay a feenger on our coh'stomers!"

Sophia, the daughter of the owner, gives her dad a sideways glare. She lets go of Taig's wrist, and he dramatically rubs it and gives a deep frown to further his faked pain, but she shuts him up by turning that glare down on him. "Eef I find joo mucking up my father's shop again, I vill show you a real hurt!"

Taig furrows his brows, but falls short of any words. His ears droop a little, defying his usually proud and defiant exterior. His mom only catches him doing his sadface, and is completely bewildered; she's only rarely seen this face, and never once could she initiate it herself. She looks from her eldest son to the retreating employee, not able to put two and two together.

"Uhm." She tilts her head and puts a hand on her curvy waist. "Who's your little playmate, Taig?" she chimes, looking at Adele with a quick smile.
