[Um...is it really the director's fault? When it comes down to it, black actors don't have to take the stereotypical roles, do they? No one is forcing them to. Sure, the amount of "Life in Da Hood" movies and romantic comedies featuring the same handful of black actors every time needs to be reduced; I'm as sick of those movies as the next person.
Maybe that chnage is up to us though...? (Meaning the newer generations.) Maybe we should push more sci-fi and fantasy and action screenplays until they can make it to the silver screen. 3nodding Maybe if we want change we have to make things change. Afterall, movies like "8 Mile" and "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" and similar movies have large black audiences, right? If we keep going to see those movies, how is anyone else supposed to know we don't appreciate only being able to see black actors in those roles?? neutral ]
