Basically did a 180 into a snowbank.
All because Ryan grabbed the wheel and yanked it on black ice.
We slid, I tried to counter-turn, did it once, but it was too late and we spun backwards into a snowbank.

No one was hurt.
And we were laughing.
Hysterically.
Just because if I went any faster we would have slid into a pond (my back driver's side tire was maybe 4 inches from slipping off the cliff into the pond.
And if we hit the other side we would have hit a telephone pole.

Ryan grabbed the wheel and yanked it because it was that Jason Mraz song "I'm Yours" on the radio and it was catchy, so he decided to swerve the car to the beat of the music.
Now I'm too scared to drive & whenever I hear that song I need to stop the car and pull to the side of the road.

We were COMPLETELY stuck, so Ryan and I called Lindsay & Eric
(We were on our way to Eric's house, coincidentally on his road maybe a quarter mile from his house)
We told them to bring two-by-fours (they didn't know what they were PSSH AP students at their best lawl)
And basically we shoveled out my car & rocked my car out of the embankment.

Sometimes Eric's mom is a driver's Ed teacher & laughs at us when we come in the house

&& Sometimes I wear extremely appropriate shoes. Ballet flats with no socks. With my car buried in a foot and a half of snow.
WOOOOOO!

So I stay at Eric's house until midnight & come home, inspect my car, my dad sees me do that, and asks me what happened.
gonk
At midnight.

But the shock of the accident didn't hit me until this morning when I woke up crying.

Jeez, that sounds pretty hairy. I bet that's not gonna look good on your driver's history at the DMV, even if it's not your fault. I'm glad no one got hurt though. Did the car sustain any damage?

Guuah, hope you didn't get frostbite with those lack-of-shoes. gonk

That's some merry christmas eh?

It wasn't reported, and there was absolutely no damage.
Jesus was with me last night.

No frostbite, Eric's mom gave me her Tweety slipper socks & my toes thawed out.

I got into an accident several year sago. Wasn't driving mind.

My dad picked me up from Aberdeen University, which I'd just completely dropped out from. We'd had an argument and a fight while we were there but we'd patched things up. Kind of emotional and whatnot, but we were on good terms again and I was glad to be going home.

However we were both physically and emotionally exhausted. I fell asleep halfway thruogh the trip home... When I woke up, I saw we were on a bridge, somewhere in Scotland, and I looked over at dad bleary eyed for a moment, but didn't really see he was dropping off to sleep. Then I looked ahead, and noticed, finally, that we were slowly veering, towards the crash barrier that was incoming on the side of the bridge. It iddn't register that we were going to impact until about a second before though, and by then it was too late. Thankfully even though we practically hit the barrier head on, we didn't drive OFF the bridge. Well, we couldn't, it had nice safe high and thick sides. But we DID spiral all the way across the three lanes, hit the OTHER barrier, ripped the front right wheel (driver's side wheel here in England) right off the axle, and spiraled across the road again and into the hard shoulder. Despite the axle busting through the floor, the engine getting wrecked, the car being a complete write off, and totally dead, none of our stuff was damaged, I escaped with just a nice hard bump on the head, and my dad only broke his little finger on his right hand, and gashed open the back of his ankle on the axle as it punched through the flooring.

We got away really lucky all things considered. ******** me that was terrifying though. I was just glad my dad was alive and well too.

I was pretty scared to be in a car for a hwile after that, but I focused more on how I was alive and that I'm glad neither of us went over the bridge.

Got over it though. Had to. >.>; Was the only real method of transport when I lived with my parents. e.e; That and my dad is normally a really safe driver.

Was also doubly lucjky that it was like 4am and there was no traffic on the motorway.

Kit! That sounds awful! Please, if you find yourself getting tired, don't hesitate to pull off to the side of the road or at least grab a cup of coffee! I'm glad no one was hurt though. Hopefully the road never decides to be a b***h to you again.
