I was in towns today. And the window went to the market place.
I was going to put my user name and my password.
Before I did that I looked at the URL.
it said:
www.gaiaisonline.com.
I was like hmmmm. wait a minute! they want me to get hacked! To be sure
i went back to gaia (real one) and refreshed the page. So I go back to the fake one. I laugh and closed the window.
It was a close one, and I didn't get hacked. (yet)

And that's why you keep the redirection warning checked.
Someone tried the same thing in the GD. Needless to say, I reported him.

Weird cuz I have that warning thing but it didn't show up when i went to the fake website.

You said you went to the website from Towns? That may have been why you didn't get the warning.
Apparently in my absence, a hole has been found in Towns that allows people to run scripts or something like that. That may have been the case for you.

I once did one of those things and put in my password and never got hacked. Then again I did change my password about an hour or so later. XD

I wonder why they haven't told people to just stay out of towns until they can hack-proof them?

I like nonsense... Because its a main attraction to gaia... a lot of people only come to gaia for towns. And on top of that, they cannot tell if they are working on the problems without it being running. Its like with the site. They have to have it running to see where the problems are.
(At least thats what the Q&A have been saying) ...it wakes up the brain cells.

Glad to hear it was only a close call, and thanks for this warning. If I'm ever in towns and that happens I am now certain I won't be fooled as opposed to fairly certain I won't get fooled. (I'd like to think I'm smart and careful enough to avoid traps like that, but sometimes one gets careless.)A Beautiful Flower with Thorns
