Child's Name: Kahu

Full Description of Child: Kahu is an adorable little thing. And a thing he really is. Somewhere between a lizard, a performer, and just a little boy, he is certainly a ball of cute!

Let's start with his head. He has a full head of rich orange hair [red hair, by human standards, but for the sake of argument, it's orange], parted down the middle and spiking out here and there. Out of the top of his cranium poke two sets of horns; the most obvious are a rich yellow in colour and are ribbed, reaching never more than two inches, and they are extremely hot to the touch. The second set, closer to his forehead but practically blending into his orange hair, are a set that resemble candycorn! Split into three stripes, they are yellow, orange, and white, and are smoothed bone protrusions. They cause one to wonder if the child's bones are, too, tricoloured..

His skin is a dusty brown shade, mirroring that of his criminal form's sickly brown colour, only Kahu's has healthy flesh and life back into his skin tone, if that makes sense. Where his criminal form would have been more grey, his skin tone now is much more lively. His body is riddled with markings; from his cheeks and forehead down his neck, chest, arms, and beginnings of his pelvis, these darker brown marks seem to mirror the striped design of the child's other extremities, or perhaps are better compared to tribal tattoos, though they are indeed just tinted flesh.

Kahu owns a pair of big, lovely green eyes, the same yellow-green shade as a clover. His ears stick out and come to a point; they will progressively become more and more pierced, as Kahu loves "jinglies".

Throughout his life, Kahu will only wear the bare necessities of clothing. If he can get away with it, he will not wear a shirt or shoes. He likes to bind his wrists tightly, which is probably a remnant from his days at the Big Top. He wears pants in various natural shades; he seems to hate any colours that don't stem from the earth; that is, any colour but browns, oranges, yellows, and greens. White is acceptable. He makes a fuss if ever he is made to wear jeans; he doesn't seem to like the fabric. Thus, he is usually wearing some sort of cotton blend, or cargo, but most definitely something durable and able to be decorated with jinglies.

Lastly, and these are arguably Kahu's most obvious physical traits, are his tail and feet. Kahu is definitely derived from some sort of lizard. From the tip of his neck, crawling down his spine, and extending out into a large tail, is very coarse, very thick scaled skin of orange and brown. The scaled skin creeps out from his spine in little fingers, but not very far from it. His tail is very flexible, and, starting from smaller nubs at the base of his spine and following the entire length of his tail, are progressively thicker spikes. They are rounded at the tip, therefore able to be touched without the loss of your finger, but the sheer girth and lineup of spikes could possibly cause a few punctures if Kahu is really pissed. His feet are long and brown and scaled, shaped very much like typical lizard feet would be. Claws are on the end of each toe, just as sharp as his spikes.

Don't forget his tongue! His tongue is long and useless; the child cannot speak, and will never make more than a few certain noises with it. But the tongue is ever present and very useful for other things, especially for sticking out. Kahu loves the reaction it gets!

Child's Personality: Kahu's a very dependent child, contrary to his adoptive father. He latches on, and it takes a strong hand to pry him off, so to speak. He loves attention, which would be obvious, deriving from a profession where he was always in the spotlight. And so, Kahu will make a scene, whether good or bad, everywhere he goes. It'll be a hard habit for Tobias to break him of. Kahu would be that child who would pull the bottom can from the soup pyramid at the supermarket, watch the whole thing come crashing down, and smile over his shoulder up at Tobias, looking for approval in a "See what I did? biggrin !" sort of way. He won't easily know what's wrong or right; no, scratch that, he knows the difference, but there will be a nice big grey area he'll like to play with, and often.

Kahu will always prefer the company of males. Whether this is simply because he has never had a strong female influence in his life, or just doesn't trust the fairer sex, is yet to be determined.

He's a sneaky child, and will be quite clever at manipulating, but his tricks will only work so long on the same people. And while he loves showing off his body and doing all sorts of tricks, from prolonged handstands and hand walking to painful looking contortion tricks, from balancing acts in the most inopportune of places to eating things he really shouldn't have, he hates when other people touch him unprovoked. He has to initiate contact, and want it, else he'll shrink away and give you the most injured of eyes that make you feel guilty you ever dreamt of laying a finger on him, even if you had only good intentions.

Overall, he's a sweet child, just misbehaved. He gets along well with others, will follow the leader, and will adore piggyback rides and being carried. He loves figuring how things work, and because of that, adores magic; not performing it, because he's absolutely terrible at it (he'd probably make sure you know everything he's doing while he does it. The magician knows the art of subtitles, and Kahu does not.) but watching a magician, live on tv, will capture his attention and mesmerize him for the entire duration of the show.

He'll have endless bundles of energy, but will tend to go from absolute endless amounts of it, to nothing at all in ten seconds flat. At which point he'll crawl into the nearest person's arms and make them carry him, even when he's older. This is why a very small/slight stature would be best for Kahu, as it would work in his advantage. Staying at a less-than-average height throughout his stages, and eventually landing somewhere beneath five feet at adulthood, is what I imagine he'd become.

Anything else: Kahu can contort his body, and walk on his hands for extended periods of time. His tail can crush stones if he slams it hard enough. He won't bruise easy, thankfully for him. He hates the way some fabrics feel, as he's a very tactile person. He is mute, and partially deaf; he speaks through body gestures and limited sign language that Tobias will teach him.
