I think it's because my girlfriend was in danger of being aborted, but for some reason she wasn't, which is why I feel sad but honestly don't hold anything against it.

Lelas FreeArsenal I kind of find it sad that the you guys could have been aborted... I don't know why... crying Because you're a pro-lifer, and you're using one of the most hackneyed arguments your side has. If we had been aborted, that would have been that. It would have been the same thing if my mom and dad hadn't gotten it on that night. What's your point? ~has a porno song play in her head from reading that post~ o.O

If your girlfriend would have been aborted, you would have met another girl. Who's to say your original girlfriend wasn't and you're working with a standby?

Nethilia If your girlfriend would have been aborted, you would have met another girl. Who's to say your original girlfriend wasn't and you're working with a standby? And that, my friend, is why what-ifs don't work. What if Einstein had been aborted? What if Hitler had been aborted? The fact is, destiny includes the fact that there are abortions. If you lament the loss of an abortion, saying, "The baby could have cured cancer!", you're defeating your own logic. If you believe in destiny, you have to believe that everything happens for a reason.

OK, porn song aside here... It seems to em that the pro-lifers are having to make much more of a compromise than the choicers here, not that I'm against that in any way blaugh I mean, no Choicer wants abortions to happen *thinks of Moniquill, changes point* Hardly any Choicers want abortion to happen, so preventing as many as possible through education would be great, for both sides. Allowing abortions to happen at all is not really a comprimise on the part of the Lifers though. Pandali Quote: Plan B. This should really be included under prevention, but it's special, so I'll make it separate. We will make Plan B and other "day-after" drugs available over the counter. These drugs are actually pumped-up doses of birth control pills that either A) form thick mucus around the cervix so as to prevent sperm from entering the uterus and meeting an egg, or, B) actually prevent a fertilized egg from implanting in uterus lining. To pro-lifers, this is abortion. But again, we are compromising. The earliest abortions are the lesser of two evils, right? I still think they should be perscription, along with the pill. Quote: Why? Just curious as to your reasoning. "morning after" pills are available over the counter in the UK for several reasons. It could be considered to be wasting your doctors time to have to get a prescription. He'd just be rubber stamping it anyway. You would have to make an appointment and be able to see your doctor within 72 hours, preferably 24. This is not always possible, especially in a city or if you have other commitments eg, day time job. Or if it is the weekend. It is a one-shot dose, there is no need for a doctor to decide how much and for how long the drug should be taken.

I guess I agree on some things... but over all my compramise is:
pro-choicers get their abortions -when needed- and pro-lifers stop bitching about it
but I guess, since this is such a contraversial issue, abortion needs compramise, so sure, I'll agree with you...to an extent.
