So, I just got to see it there, and let me tell you, it was the most amazing and fufilling performance of my entire life. Mind you, it didn't hurt that we had third row seats, but it would have been magnificent if we had been in the very back.
I just wanted to know, if you've seen it in its original spot, did you guys get the same thrill I did? Did you realize that you were in the theater where Michael Crawford first sang Music of the Night to Sarah Brightman? That the Overture's opening night had begun in the same room you were sitting in? That this was the theater meant to be haunted by the Phantom in London?

Wooo... dead thread?
I went to see the London show the week before last, and I was blown away. I'm a huge fan of the book and the film version (despite their differences!!) and I really want to go see the musical again. For the first time, the Raoul/Christine relationship was actually convincing!
And when the chandelier started rising, and the Overture began... I had chills!
