Most people at my school know I have a very expensive doll and they're actually very excited about meeting him (have yet to take him anywhere. idk, if I were to take him to school, I just wouldn't carry him everywhere around the school, probably just where most of my friends are and on a day where I could just take him home whenever I wanted to (usually while others are taking graduation exams).

I have over heard comments being made about my doll on a train once by two girls, mind you I giggled when they were coming over to make a comment to my face when they saw the rest of the group I was with with all their dolls out. Their faces were to die for.
I've also taken several of my dolls to college too. My lecture loves then and practically demands the class to buy one for their art studies saying they are perfect tools to have. I've only had two people in my classes ever saying anything bad about them and make fun of them. So I usually turn the doll's head towards them, it always gets them to be quite. I guess they realise I can hear them.

Actually, I tend to leave my doll-loving side right at home, just to avoid scenes like that. ._. Kids are mean. They don't like anything that doesn't conform. Not to mention I just moved here, so toting a "baby doll" to class wouldn't be a great way to meet people...

People think im some kind of psychopath for playing with dolls. One girl said that she hates dolls, and that they should "all die!!!!!!"
:/
I havent gotten directly insulted, but people have insulted dolls. This offends me as a collector.

that's a real a*****e thing to do, knocking off a doll's wig like that. i could see name-calling, but if anyone ever touched my doll i'd have to hit them. hard. i just don't see why anybody would feel the need to do anything like that, unless they just really have a disliking for extravagant & unique hobbies.

Hmm.... Well I bet if I was still in the country and had brought a doll with me to school when I was still in school. I would likely have gotten some horrible teasing for it. But then again... I was already teased quiet a bit so just would have had one more reason to add to the teasing.
But since I have had dolls. I have loved taking them out to random places, other then meets. Like stores, or parks. I sometimes get some odd looks. I think the best responses are from kids. They are always amazed at the dolls and its pretty cute. I've had a lil girl point out how pretty and expensive my doll looked, and her mom agreed.
I've never got any upfront negative reactions other then looks. I've had people stop and ask if they are 'asian' or 'anime' ^^; Or what they are. I've even had a few people recognize them as bjds.(When walking through the large asian market...)
But Oregon has alot of weird stuff, and the largest bjd community. So Not to many people even notice or think anything when they see someone with a doll. Not as weird as alot of the stuff you see I'm sure =3 and people are all about art and being different here.

It is sad to hear that so many people can be so cruel when it comes to dolls. They are such wonderful pieces of art. Each one is different and it takes so much time and love to make a doll. Sure you can buy a doll from the store for a kid but one that is made is just soo much more special.

I took a doll to school with me once, but didn't take her out until class was over and I was just sitting with a friend. Most people just aren't sure what to think, and so they just kinda stare and don't ask. I also get a lot of comments that they're "creepy".
I haven't really told much of my family - my aunts know, and one of my cousins knows because we follow each other on Instagram (she surprised the hell out of me and bought clothes for my new boy for Christmas!) but one of my other cousins thought my Resinsoul girl was creepy, and it kinda made me sad =( I'm definitely the black sheep of the family though, so meh.
Have been bullied a little bit online by others in the hobby, but nothing major. Kinda surprised I've never been subjected to the Resinsoul hate, cause the majority of my collection is Resinsoul heart
