Zasalamel glanced up at the sky for only a moment; it was sunny out, almost too sunny. He had been walking for sometime now, heading out towards a botanical garden that he was told about. Lately the Drow had been cooped up inside, only wandering outside to pick Yashima up from work or to go to and from his own work. It was a life of solitude and it was one he enjoyed...but apparently always being home got on Yashima's nerves. Either that or the Fox wanted the Drow to have more friends. It was hard to tell.
Eventually the Kitsune had started throwing ideas at him, and one of them was the newly rennovated botanical garden. Of course the Garden was one of the last, desperate ideas that was thrown his way, but it was the one he ended up taking up. Besides, it would be a good idea to get out and do something different. Zasalamel wasn't known for wandering in Gardens. Not since Neveah was murdered, anyway.
He made it to the Gardens and he made his way through them, his hands in his pockets and his gaze on the flowers and planets around him. Despite the weather he had dressed warmly; a long sleeved red shirt, a black scarf with silver runes etched into it, jeans, a pair of black boots and his rattails braided tightly down his back while the rest of his shorter, unruly hair stayed free, and of course his sunglasses. It was one of those days where he hated being in the sun, but it was the day he promised to go out.
So there he was.
There was one point he had to stop, however; he had seen flowers and plants that were the most beautiful colours, but there was one that he kept seeing out of the corner of his eye; one that seemed more alive than anything, and one that tugged at his memory banks. He recognized this particular moving piece of foliage, he was positive...but for the life of him, he couldn't recall what the name was and why it looked bigger than his memory told him it was.
In a nonchalant way, Zasalamel moved down the path that would take him closer to it, hoping the living foliage would recognize him as well and make his life easier.

Oak had decided to go out on his own today and leave the cooped up house that was filled with children... scary children too. He was fed up with always watching the children, since Kyo his guardian was always absent minded. Lately Oak had been studying up on his botany. Even at his age he had a major interest in plants... obvious since he was mostly composed of plant like material.
Since the weather was fair out and his guardian had always pressed for dressing modest. Oak had decided to ditch the shorts and pick up a pair of... what would you know.... just a longer pair of shorts that fit rather uncomfortably at first, but then the scissors came out and some holes were mended in and that was all he wore. Once upon a time ago Kyo had forced Oak to try on a shirt, but with failure it didn't work. The plants that grew on Oak's shoulders prevented that from ever happening. Oak didn't mind that though, the cooler weather didn't bother him.
Oak wandered around the botanical garden taking in all the flowers in their vibrant colors. Bending down here and there to grasp one in his hands and feel the texture of the petal and in his mind he would call out the name of the plant... of course not the scientific name. He could never quite grasp how to pronounce them. "Hmmm I think this is a lily.." Oak mumbled with a smile on his face. As Oak raised himself back up, the sound of foot steps rang in his ears. He quickly turned his head and caught a glimpse of the other occupying the garden.
Oak tilted his head and pondered. This figure looked rather familiar. The dark skin and light hair sparked a memory.
"Zasalamel?" Oak spoke out gently, he wasn't sure if that was his right name, but at least that name fit the description that Kyo had told him and he also told Oak about his former guardian. A sudden sadness fell over him. He wouldn't know what he would have done if he had lost Kyo.
