NODAME CANTABILE | のだめ カンタビ-レ
User Image

Starring Hiroshi Tamaki and Juri Ueno, Nodame Cantabile is the original 11 episode adaptation of Tomoko Ninomiya's heartwarming musical love story. It covers the first 9 volumes of the manga and has since been followed by a New Year's special. Two movie sequals are now in the pipelines for 2010 with filming already on the way. A personal favourite of mine, I hope many of you are familiar with this drama. Feel free to discuss the series, or simply express your admiration for the saucy Hiroshi Tamaki ♡^▽^♡

Let me be the first to express my undying love for this series! I purchased the boxed set and watched the entire thing in one night with my little brother. Even a macho guy like him couldn't resist the romantic tale of Nodame and Chiaki <3

I love how the drama preserves many of the comedic cartoony elements of the manga but still makes the story its own. The casting was, in my opinion, perfect! Especially Masumi's role, I thought Koide Keisuke portrayed him brilliantly and had me laughing the whole way through. Ueno Juri also made such a loveable Megumi; she managed to balance eccentricity with relateable femininty and needless to say looked gorgeous throughout. As for Tamaki, I'd love him even if he couldn't act XDD

I've yet to see the New Year's special and just can't wait for the films!! Nodame is honestly one of the best J-dramas I've seen, even compared to non-manga inspired series.

Bump!

Saw this, had to post!

Nodame Cantabile is an amazing Jdrama! I love it to pieces, that being said I'm ashamed to say I haven't actually finished it yet. But I still love it, I'd finish it but I lacked the time and Jdramas are an hour long which made it difficult, gah! However I shall continue watching it soon for I have all the free time in the world now 8D

The first thing that drew me into the series was the fact that it orientated around classical music which I think needs more love. However the artwork in the anime put me off slightly [that's how I got into it in the first place - the anime] however I soon found that it was brilliant! However with so many episodes I switched to watching the Jdrama instead and I have to say, I agree that the casting is perfect! As I was watching it my face was smiling like mad because I was so pleased ^o^
