Peyote: The warm afternoon sun glitters on the surface of the vast deep, and Pey has made her way from the cove a ways, to a place where the fresh water once more spills into the sea. She's pulled off her clothes to wash them and the various utensils the group has been using. She hums tunelessly to herself as she 'works'.
Autumns joy: Autumn had been out in the woods most of the day. Most likely trying hard to get back to sleeping during the day just as the young Dew Paw was trying to do. When she woke she made her way back to the cove and the company of her new pack. What an odd group they were, all of them. Having had to stay days with them was very hard for her. Trying to get through to the mind deaf Sun Villager was proving to be VERY hard indeed. So when she was spotted washing her things Autumn thought to try just once more and silently made her way over. Standing for long moments behind her just watching what she was doing and looking her over. The dark colored flesh new to her and she wasn't sure it she liked it or if it was just Pey that bothered her. Then a finger ran over Peys spine and Autumn smirked. Waiting for some big over reaction.
Peyote: Cue: On Big Over Reaction. Peyote squealed, jumped up high enough to make Dewshine jealous, and ended up face first in the cool water of the stream, where she inhaled water from the shock of the temperature difference, and began floundering, sputtering, and thrashing about.
Autumns joy: She might not have been able to hear the laughter but if she looked at who was there Pey would clearly see Autumn silently laughing hysterically.
Peyote: Peyote might look, if she didn't drown. Long moments past while Peyote collected her feet under her and stood. Pushing her wet hair from her eyes, she peered about and spotted Joy. An unhappy frown danced to her face. "That was just plain rude, viper," she spat.
Autumns joy: Making a grumpy face back at her for a few moments Autumn shook a finger at her as if scolding her then laughed again.
Peyote: Peyote hmphed, turned her nose up, and climbed back to her perch to keep cleaning.
Autumns joy: Well it seemed the desert elf would be fun if nothing else. Moving to a rock near Pey she sat and watched her. Emerald eyes seemed to stare closely at Peys hands, then her face then looked her all over for while. Not really sure how to make this one understand her.
Peyote: Peyote scrubbed at the dishes with a vengeance, grumbling under her breath.
Autumns joy: Removing her leather shoes Autumn dipped her feet in the water letting out a soft breath. Looking around she then smiled and picked up a pebble. Tapping Pey lightly on the shoulder she tried to get her to pay attention to what she was doing.
Peyote: Peyote looked over at the tap, stilling frowning. "What," she snipped.
Autumns joy: Holding out the pebble to Pey it morphed and shifted into a little flower with a hole in the back that a string or leather strap might be passed through it to wear. A small smile touched Autumns lips and she handed it to Pey.
Peyote: Peyote eyed the bead, then looked at Joy. Uncertain, the desert elfess took the bead with an unemotional, "Thank you."
Autumns joy: Was it a real smile that found Autumns features? Indeed it was. She nodded a bit then wet her fingers flicking them at Pey.
Peyote: Peyote rocked away from the water, bringing a hand up to fend it off. "Ah! What's wrong with you?"
Autumns joy: She wondered what to do for a heartbeat then moved to Pey. Taking her hand lightly she dunked Peys fingers in the water and flicked them at Autumns face. Turning a bit she smiled and got Pey wet again. Trying hard to get her to play in the water and let her work go for a bit.
Peyote: Peyote just watched Joy for long moments as the elfess made her move, then she frowned again. "Go find Dewpaw. I'm not a child."
Autumns joy: frown slowly started to tug at Autumns lips and she seemed to walk away. That was until Pey was shoved from behind back into the stream. Autumn leaped in and splashed at her a lot now.
Peyote: Peyote screamed as she went under and in anger, she splashed back.
Autumns joy: Ah that was what Autumn wanted, to play. It didn't matter if the drowned flower wanted that or not. Autumn heaved as much water as she could at Pey then while Pey was splashing back sneaked in to push her over lightly again.
Peyote: Peyote sputtered and pushed, screaming when she could, "HELP! -sputter cough- Get this... demented... fleabitten... gah! cough couh. HEELP!!!"
Autumns joy: Hearing her cry out Autumn stopped and held out a hand to Pey. She had a wide grin on her face that might make some uneasy but still she held no malice in her for the dark elf.
Peyote: Peyote pushed the hands away and drifted tot eh opposite bank. She pulled herself and coughed for a long time, before she looked over at Joy with daggers.
Autumns joy: Slowly Autumn came over to Pey. Lightly brushing some of the wet hair from the lovely little face before cupping her cheek and smiling softly. Gently she caressed it then tapped Peys nose lightly and turned away.
Peyote: Peyote freaked out as her face was held, lips pouting, and hands flailing just near Joy's shoulders. "Stopstopstopstopstopstopstop!!!"
Autumns joy: A slight shrug of her shoulders and Autumn turned from her. She would just have to be sure someone was round when she wanted to interact with Pey or terrorize her to death.
Peyote: Peyote kept freaking as Joy moved away, her hands flailing abit before herself as she jabbered on nonsensically.
Autumns joy: Autumn decided she best stay and make sure the dark elfess wasn't already terrorized into madness. It seemed so by the way she was acting. Silently she sat and waited for her to calm down some.
Peyote: It took a few minutes, but finally Peyote did calm down, and so she sat panting melodramatically, eyeing Joy.
Autumns joy: The wolfrider didn't move. She simply sat watching. She didn't want another episode like that one.
Peyote: When the melodrama had passed (for the moment anyway), Peyote stood and made her way back toward the dishes. Eyeing Joy warily, the villager returned to work.
Autumns joy: What to do. What to do. Autumn thought and it was starting to make her head hurt. In time fingers found their way into the water gain and flicked little in Peys direction.
Peyote: Peyote made an exasperated sigh in her throat, but refused to react.
Autumns joy: Oh well at least that was better then screaming. More water found its way over Peys head in time and Autumn though she tried hard to look innocent looked very guilty.
Peyote: Peyote sighed, closed her eyes, and seemed to be praying for patience. The moment passed and she started to rinse the bowls.
Autumns joy: After a bit Autumn stopped. She sat silently and looked about the water for something to do.
Peyote: Peyote finished rinsing the bowls and stood. She found her still damp dress and put it back on before stooping to collect the dishes.
Autumns joy: Blinking back to life Autumn saw what Pey was going for and rushed over to help her. It seems she was in such a hurry she wasn't looking and felt her head smack into Peys. Sending Autumn staggering for a moment in the water still she lost her balance and ended up on her rump looking up and rubbing her head.
Peyote: Peyote didn't stagger. Nope. The bowls got tossed into the air and down she went, flopping onto her rump in the sand, eyes squeezed shut. "Ooowwww! What's the big idea?! Ah! High Ones!"
Autumns joy: Autumn was starting to feel like a low ranking wolf in the pack at the way she was trying so hard to get this elfs approval. It was bothering her she didn't like the taste it was leaving in her mouth. Finally she stood and picked up a bowl and flung it. She kicked another one and scowled hard doing it.
Peyote: Peyote's eyes widened as Joy started kicking bowls, and she scrambled up to her knees. "HEY! Stop it! What's wrong with you? Did the Sun make you stupid! Stop it! They're getting all dirty again!"
Autumns joy: Hearing Pey yell was like a thorn in the paw and she rounded on her with a snarl. Standing over Pey with clenched fists for a moment before she picked up one last bowl and flung it hard.
Peyote: Peyote squeeked as Joy rounded on her, shrinking away from teh irate shaper. "Go away," she said simply, fear-scent rolling from her in waves.
Autumns joy: Autumn took in the smell. She liked it. Still a small voice in her mind screamed for her to pull back. As the sweat started to bead on her brow and Autumn could feel her mouth water she took a step back. Eyes never leaving the frightened Pey. Taking in everything her sences could get from the dark one. A hunt at the moment was needed and she grabed her shoes. Storming past Pey she stopped for just an instant over her again and looked down before taking off for the woods again.
Peyote: Peyote watched Joy storm away, the fear slow to disappate. When the shaper was well away, the villager stood, and recollected her bowls, frowning at them. She sighed tiredly and returned to the river, where she lowered herself to her knees and began washing them all over again.

ChosenSavith: As the day waned into evening and Savith had gotten his earful of a certain little dark-skinned elfess, he promised to do what he could, then drifted off, hoping to not look like he wants to track and follow Starsong, who'd left earlier that day to go hunting. During the day. What was that wolfrider thinking? He drifted down to the pool to clean up and wash his leathers now that he could, and to soak his still sore ankle. At least it was starting to feel better. He sat in the water, leathers cleaned and spread out to dry, hair wet and clinging to his shoulders.
Autumns joy: He might have heard her at the last moment as she came up on him from behind. She didn't mean to sneak and wouldn't be thought so if it were Dew or Star she was approaching. Her mind touching his lightly, *Resting My Chief?*
ChosenSavith: Savith lifted his head from where he had been blankly gazing at the water while idly rubbing as his ankle, only to turn to peer over his shoulder as the send drifted across his mind. He sent a wordless feeling of acknowledgement coupled with a question, leaving the sense of an invitation to sit with him and talk, though the slight tension in his shoulders smacks that there is something mildly concerning on his mind.
Autumns joy: Her mind heaved a slight sigh as if she knew what was going to be said. She had heard it many times before, Autumn calm down. Autumn behave. Autumn this and Autumn that. Already she was gearing herself up to nod politely and agree. *What is it My Chief?* The send full of aggravation and he could feel the lack of attention she was giving this already. She came and sat near him as she threw pebbles in the water.
ChosenSavith: Savith quirked a brow as he all but tasted her aggravation, and that childless pouting "I'm not listening to you". His eyes narrowed slightly, as he replied, **You approached me.** Leaning on centuries of training, he schooled his mind calm, clear, steady; the perfect image of the Chosen One, leader of the Mountain's protectors, and the Right Hand of the Lord Herself. **I would present to you the same question.**
Autumns joy: *I just came to see what you were doing and say greetings. I could feel the question you wish to ask of me and I suppose it has to do with the frightened rabbit.* She was frustrated with Pey and since Pey didn't seem to want to learn Autumn decided she would teach her torment instead.
ChosenSavith: **Then come, see how I am and give me your greetings. If I have something to ask you, I will ask it when I am ready,** he replied rather calmly, though a touch of annoyance filtered through.
Autumns joy: *How is your foot today?* Something about him felt familiar. Like from a dream but distant. So she gave up the thought and decided to just think about the moment at hand.
ChosenSavith: **Better,** he replied, pushing the annoyance away for the cooler calmer tones his Lord had once praised him for. **Dancer is coming into her Gift, it seems...**
Autumns joy: *A healer is a gift to a tribe and somehow a weakness as well.* Taking a scoot closer to him. *Would you like your shoulders rubbed?* She felt odd asking him that but he seemed to need it. The Chief needed to be in peek condition and Savith wasn't. *Or maybe when your mate is well she will do it.* The statement was more of a teasing question then anything.
ChosenSavith: Savith nodded to the comment about the healer, leaning back against the rock behind him. The question of the massage started to receive an answer, mind opening with the beginnings of a No Thank You, but much like speech when one starts to say one word, then in surprise and shock says another, so too does his mind do a double-take at the comment of his mate. **No-wha? Mate?** There's a pause in which Savith clearly seems to think something over, eyes scanning about what's visible of the cove. His lips pull into a frown, eyes narrowing. **She's been found, then,** he seems to gingerly, if darkly, question. The hand on the pool's edge, near Joy, tightens to a fist, restraint of some sort etched on his features.
Autumns joy: *She?* Her mind questioned not understanding. *Pey said the sickly one was your mate. Is she not?* She looked at him as she waited for the answer.
ChosenSavith: That forced the glider to pause, confusion written on very inch of his face as he looks up at Joy. **Peyote... sickly... you mean... Starsong? High Ones, no. She's not my mate, of any kind,** he replies. His mind stammered slightly at the start, as he pieced things together.
Autumns joy: Her mind chuckled but then went back to the she. *So who is SHE then?*
ChosenSavith: Savith sighed, turning his face away, and again looked as if something were being held in checked. **Later,** he sent, not wanting to talk about it. **For now, tell me what's going on between you and Peyote.**
Autumns joy: *I don't understand her* The mind answered flatly. Of course there was more to it but in truth she didn't understand how an elf could be so clueless to the world around her.
ChosenSavith: **Ah, so that's a good enough reason for anything, then? A lack of understanding? Surely there's more to it.**
Autumns joy: Taking long pause Autumn gathered together her thoughts and it came out as a tired sigh. The lack of understanding and the feeling of being looked down on pushing her on to act the way she was with the little rabbit. *She thinks I'm stupid. She does not try. I have tried very hard to communicate with her without help but she is thick and holds no interest in wanting to learn as well to speak with me. I do not need to be looked down the nose at someone I could out hunt, track, and near everything else in but dance and be foolish. I even tried to play with her a bit and she acted like I was going to eat her.* The growling tone came into the send. She was getting herself angry.
ChosenSavith: Savith took all that in, burying the earlier feelings for mate in Work. **She's a different kind of elf, with no understanding the world outside her home. Much like Llune was, and still is at times, she is completely naive of things with which she has no experience, and she's rarely, if ever, had the reason to learn otherwise. Also, before the wolfriders came, and then us, eventually, less than a hand of elves in her village could send. I'm not even sure she knew it was possible before then.**
Autumns joy: *Does that mean one doesn't even try? I have tried but I am done trying. If she will not learn to be nice with me she will learn to watch out for me and that will keep her on her toes for everything.* Autumn felt sad by this but only a little. It was more like teaching a cub something it refused to learn no matter how hard the lesson.
ChosenSavith: **Tell me of your trying, then, Shaper. For to hear her speak of it, and I assure you, she speaks a lot, is to hear that you are needlessly cruel.**
Autumns joy: Hearing she was cruel made her both grin then frown. She didn't want to be cruel but the other was a bit over reactive. *When you cut up the meat. I tried to help her with it and she looked around me and asked someone to help her move me.* The words growled out of her mind. *She was at the water washing things and all I did was touch her and she threw herself into the water. I tried to help her and she was mad. I made her a flower to put on a string and she barely cared. I have tried. Even this day I just touched her from the grass and again she went into the water.* Pulling her anger back like a snarling wolf she blew out slowly to calm herself.
ChosenSavith: **Did you make noise to let her know you were approaching? Did she see you coming?** Savith questions, mind calm and collected. Merely, seeking information.
Autumns joy: *No. It is not something I think of doing.* Her mind becoming tired of talking about the rabbit.
ChosenSavith: **Maybe you should try that next time. It's quite possible she jumped because she didn't hear, see, or smell you coming,** Savith replies simply, turning to scoop water up and splash his face.
Autumns joy: As he splashes some water on his face she flicks water at him as well with a chuckle. *Maybe. I will think on it but I doubt I will remember or try any more if she does not try. Speak to her as well. Not just me.* She looked up at the sky. *It must be wonderful to fly.* A thought that seemed to come from nowhere.
ChosenSavith: **I have spoken with her, at length. Just as she's not to assume you're unintelligent because she can't hear you, you are not to assume she understands you or your ways.** He turns to look at Joy, frowning, **And you will, remember, wolf-elf. If I must bite your throat and force you to.**
Autumns joy: She took in that look for a long moment to see if it was meant. Still his send rang true enough and she nodded. *I'm not hurting her though.*
ChosenSavith: Oh, Savith meant it. Granted, it was in the feral terms of a wolf-elf, but he meant every syllable of his threat, even allowing gazes to meet and eyes to set upon eyes. The hunter's intensity coupled with the sheer age of his gaze, lent it a strength he wouldn't have acknowledged was there. **She claimed you nearly drowned her,** he returned even-toned.
Autumns joy: *I can't wait to go sleep in the trees again. She is worse that a cub. I did not. I never pushed her in the water nor did I try to drown her. If I had you know she would be dead. I would have but to anker her feet and hands to heavy rocks and let them drop.* Again her mind tried hard to pull back the anger that was building. *Maybe I just don't fit in anywhere.* Her gaze went from his to the water as fingers lightly brushed the surface of it. *I am not fit.* The thought ended and locked from him.
ChosenSavith: **So are you, in how you are acting about this,** Savith retorted, then sighed. Straightening, he reaches out to tap Joy's shoulder lightly, **Throw your pity party, and none of us will go. Fit or not fit, you are who you are, and as a Shaper you've just an important role among us now as any healer or hunter, for it is your hands that our shelter will be both strong and able to hold us all. But you are no longer with the tribe you know, whom you grew up with and knew your moods. You have to adjust to a new pack, or find us snappy at your heels.**
Autumns joy: *But if one snaps and I bite then you come and push me to the ground and make me show throat. Even if it is our way of dealing with things like that. I'm not trying to have you pity me either. I was just stating that it was hard to fit in my own tribe and even harder here. I just wish.* She sighs softly *I don't know. I wish I did know.*
ChosenSavith: Savith paused a moment, then thumped Joy on the side of the head. **Wishing is for elves like me, not you, wolfrider. You have the luxury of forgetting yesterday and not fretting tomorrow. So what if you couldn't fit in there? Move to fit in here, and be done with it.**
Autumns joy: At the thump she laughed softly then pushed his shoulder. Maybe a bit harder then she should have but oh well. He was making her feel more comfortable around him. He was starting to look less amazing and more normal to her. *Maybe everyone should move to fit in around me.* Her send was lighter now. His words might have put things in order in her mind.
ChosenSavith: **Push me, pull you,** the glider retorted, a hand reaching out to find a ledge to prevent him from going under. **You can't expect us to bend for you if you don't bend for us. Will you work to try to come to an understanding with Peyote, please.**
Autumns joy: *Perhaps* She lifted her head to the sky. Looking a bit snooty. Her send happier and accommodating. She would try one more time but only because he asked, he heard her out and helped her feel better about it all.
ChosenSavith: Savith clicked his tongue, the same as he would to his giant hawk of a bond beast when he was not completely satisfied with something she had done. **Only perhaps,** he pressed mentally as his tongue clicked.
Autumns joy: Her head tilted as she looked at him. *Are you trying to train me?* Her mind pushed back slightly. *I would try. You could feel that could you not? Why press for the words when you know it will be done?*
ChosenSavith: Savith smirked coyly, but didn't answer the first question, letting the grin speak for itself. instead he replied to the latter, **Because in sending there is only truth. Tell me, here, that you will work to smooth things with the desert elfess, and we will leave it at that lest I hear of anythign further. Do not, and I will watch you like a hawk watches a ravvit. I would rather not waste my time babysitting you.**
Autumnsjoy: *I will not scare her or anything like that. I will not go out of my way to make her happy. I will let her be and if she comes to me I will not be harsh but I am not going to go to her again.* Putting it in blunt terms just what she felt.
ChosenSavith: Savith nodded. It was enough, for now. And so, the glider turned to recline against the pool's edge again, turning his eyes to the sky and letting that familiar little frown danceto his features as his own darker thoughts came back to him.
