Casually Gorgeous Miss Lady Juice Box Personally I think all those "vibrations" and whatnot are just the power of influence. If you give someone something that sounds deep and technical they believe it's going to work they get better (like placebos). It's never been downright proven that it's all fact.
Placebo effect is a perfect example.
Why do you think it works so well? Because the person put so much focus and intent on getting better because they're convinced a sugar pill will cure them.
Positive energy = getting better.
Positive energy to heal can only come from the person. That's like meditation. But that's to only feel better, you're not curing any major illness with it very well. Even then what people think they can do to other people I don't think is real. It's just a hoax, like a placebo, to get people to think something which ultimately has an effect. No cure by any means, but an effect.

Casually Gorgeous The Mighty Z-Rex Casually Gorgeous The Mighty Z-Rex So do sit-ups. Because they're EXERCISE. If new age healthyness is so effective then why do these super wise people use our medicine now? The Chinese are using penicillin, not roots. And I've looked into it, Kaleb. The world record for youngest person to have a paper published in a medical journal belongs to an elementary school girl who beat the AMA by disproving therapeutic touch. Im not talking about eating roots and random 'super herbs' people are always coining these days.
Im talking about healing work to do with energy fields and vibrational forces. Energy fields is exactly what therapeutic touch is about, dingus. And vibrational forces are a myth, short of causing boners and making pussies drip. Maybe if you knew what you were made of, what Im talking about would make more sense to you.
Apparently you're too ignorant and close minded to even try and understand though. Maybe you're too arrogant and immature to understand science and things that explain how the universe work. You know, if you put two fingers on your forehead and blink you can teleport to King Kai's planet.

I think it has a lot to do with stress response, and the less stressed you are the stronger your body will be to fight off sickness. I mean, considering the fight or flight response was never supposed to be triggered a fraction of the amount we trigger it today, no wonder everyone has cancer. Also pollution, if the stress doesn't get you the mercury will.

You should look into the studies done on restructuring water with human intent by researcher Masaru Emoto.
He basically shows that our thoughts, emotions, or any psychological intent on water pysically restructures it. For example he would put plain tap water in a completely sterile vacume sealed jars, and simply label each jar with a word such as love or hate. And then flash freeze the water and look at it under a high powered microscope. The water with the word hate attached to it was chaotic and quite frankly disgusting looking. Where as the water with a positive word like love attached to it was symmetrical and balanced.
He did a wide range of experiments that other reputable scientists have recreated with the same conclusions.
The average human being is roughly 70% or more water. So sending loving thoughts, prayer, meditation or whatever to a person is going to physically effect them.

People who experience alot of stress are more susceptible to getting colds, headaches, and other things like that.

As a former chem major, I'm obligated to call bullshit on this study if it can't be found in a peer-reviewed scientific journal. I can accept as fairly reasonable the claim that healing energy and stuff can affect the neurotransmitters released by your brain cells and thereby improve various physiological functions, but water is always the same molecule, dude. All water crystals look exactly the same at the microscopic level because they always bond at the same angle. Unless you're suggesting that one can bend the laws of physics with your mind, in which case you're either talking out your a**, or you're Dr. Manhattan.

I've glanced at his studies before actually. Though I herd he wrote the words directly on ice. I honestly don't think much of that, since it's so scientifically obscure. No one has cured a disease purely with mind over matter, at least no one I've herd of. Meditation and therapy can have an effect, because the mind is a powerful thing to one's own body. If you are happy you are more likely to get over a cold faster than a sad person, but that's only because your body functions better in happy moods, it's not curing the cold.

So you agree that meditation/positive mindset/happiness can generally aid in the effect of getting over a cold a little more efficiently than being negative?
So say you invest a large amount of your daily time and energy focussing on being happy, meditating and letting your body relaxe and be comfortable so it can deal directly with whatever is bothering it.
Im not saying that people are being magically jesus-cured by writing love in their foreheads or drinking holy water.
But there's a possibility over time it could benefit someones condition.

It does have an effect, but it seems a lot of new age medicine seems to think they can do more than just influence someone's ability to get over something a bit better. Aiding someone in meditation is a lot different than what I've herd a lot of new age medicine folks are trying to do.
