Daxmort RallyKupo Daxmort RallyKupo Same here. I'm fighting Salazar's "right hand" now. gonk And I want this game, also very badly. But I can't buy new games until I save up more than I need for other things in life. Other things in life are more important than RE4..? . . . Really? blaugh Plane ticket to Alabama. (It is Alabama in/near NY, right?) 270 so far. I need another 150 or so for the ticket, and then another 200 for spending. I think ya mean Albany, the capital of NY? Alabama's a state in the south! xd

Yep, great game, but it still doesn't live up to the hype in my opinion. Let me explain before you bash me.
I've been a huge fan of RE since I first played it back in 98 on playstation. I didn't have an issue with Capcom ditching the zombies, but they were my favorite part of the game, and like I thought, it did lose a lot of it's scare because of the change. It has no replayability for the story aspect either. Of course I keep playing for the action, which is what it was meant for anyway.
Continuing though, it is a great game, but the scares are truly limited. Zombies felt no pain, they had one thought on their mind, so to speak, and that was flesh. They came at you until they were physically unabe to, and that's what always freaked me out about RE. Hell, In RE2 in the beginning, when I was Leon, I ran past the zombies into the basketball court (behind the gunshop), and the zombies grouped together and couldn't get through the gate and eat me. I was busy laughing until one zombie had his arm ripped of by the gate and came after me, followed by the rest. It only happened once, and it may have been a glitch, but it was ******** awsome. And made me jump, as I had never had it happen before. These new monsters, I have a few issues with. Sure, they come at you in groups, they're smarter, they're faster, they use weapons, and the chainsaw guy is an instant K.O., which will keep you on your toes, but they don't have the same effect on me. Even when you learn what they are. They're also disposed of just as easily as zombies once you know how to kill them. My second issue with the game is the story, or the lack of it. I like what they have, for the most part, but theres way to much left unexplained when you finish the game. I beat it and literally went "Okay, so where are the answers I wanted"? They also bring new info onto the table, like Ada and Wesker. They're still working together, but for who? And in the cutscene/button pressing session with Krouser (or whatever his name is) near the end part of the game, he mentions a big aspect of the story, then stops and says "I almost let it slip". I won't ruin what he says for those who haven't gotten there yet, but I was exited when it was said, then let down after the game ended and there was no more info on it. Oh, also the unlockables stink. No infinate ammo, or ability to hold every weapon or anything. That really made me mad. I wanted to have an all out shooting fest. Although the chicago typwriter gun you get for beating the Operation Ada minigame is fun to use. I know the game is meant to make you decide which weapons to keep and which ones to ditch, but still, it's dissapointing. There were no really neat costumes either. Just one set for each main character. Leons RPD uniform, some shitty pop star crap for Ashley and Ada's outfit from her minigame.
Oh well, I guess the best thing to do is try and beat it using just the pistol.
