It's basically a school roleplay with twists. NOW READ AND JOIN!
INTRO
A horrible plague struck the world, killing millions in a single wave. After the first wave a strain was created that fought off the plague. Millions of people were saved but there were some that were unlucky and didn't get it. Slowly some of the infected's bodies seemed to change, adapting to the pain that wracked them day and night. Some seemed to morph into a species un-known, their skins stretching and even changing colors, while others took on un-imaginable abilities. At first they were scattered, unable to control their abilities or to blend in with the group of people that still lived.
The surviving humans came to call these beings DeathWalkers, for where ever they went a sense of dread followed along with the hate that people had against them. Wars would spring up in the lands they walked, fire burning the towns where they would stay for the night.
Professor Albert Von Bridum created a castle that was to be used as a home for the afflicted, his goal to create a city where his kind were welcomed and taught how to contain their power.
And thus, 20 years later, we find ourselves in what was once named Austria.

STORY SO FAR
March 19, 1984
The first wave of plague has struck us. I'm not sure how long we will last. My sister has become ill. I fear that our house is doomed but I can't bring myself to leave. There is too much history within these walls. The tales of our family reside in every brick. What is to happen to the Bridum blood line. Will my sister live? Less importantly, will I live. I can't imagine a world without her. I must finish now. Mother is calling me and you know how she hates to wait. Her eyes growing dull brother. Ash seems to collect beneath them like a wave of death creeping like fog. She is infected too. I know it. Come, swift as the wind. We will not last long. If you love us, then come.

Study Log: April 29, 1984
My brother Jasper contacted me last month. It seems that there has been infections in the back city as well. I've heard rumors of death in the larger towns. My studies of the strain lead me to believe that large groups of people cause the strain to change into a more aggressive strand. I've been studying a young girl. She reminds me very much of my little sister. I don't want this girl to die like her. I don't want that poor thing to feel the pain that I couldn't stop for my sister. Her body is already ashen. Her eyes are transforming as well. I've administered several doses of MethinolVibrocil, logged as MVs2. After advances with the first strain I had hope that I might have found a cure, only to have my patient die in my arms. I fear my heart can not handle this.....
Study Log: May 3, 1984
Mother has died. As did one of my most promising patients. It seems that more and more death is spreading. TV has been shut down. Said reason is supposedly to keep fears down and people from staying in one place. Government is simply ruining too many people's lives. More people travel means more people die. This is not good. Will write more.
Study Log: May 11, 1984
MVs3 was given for the first time. I'm proud to say that it has had a positive effect on my patients. They seem to be getting better. I've sent the strain to the closest labs and hospitals. Internet seems to be working still as well. I've sent out the strain data to every comrade of mine. It will spread soon enough.

News of certain people not contracting the disease. Yet the growing numbers of death are suffocating at the least. I've gotten several messages back. MVs3 seems to have worked in the Americas as well. No news from the UK as of yet.

I fear that I have been showing the disease's main attributes. I don't know how long I will be able to hold out.
Study Log: June 17, 1984
I can't believe what I've been trying to stop. My body seems to have changed some how. Into something so miraculous. It is a shame that those people were too weak to experience this. They died before they could assume the power that I can assume only the almighty god blessed us with. It must be him. All that sin here. He was testing us, as history shows he has done before. I can not believe I was strong enough to serve him. I can not stop the MVs3 from spreading. It seems that people fear death more than what we few are getting. Was it god's wish for me to create this strain? Did he want me to save those people? Or was it an evil force that drove my hand? I can not be sure. But it will be some time before I must deal with them. For not I must finish my research. This will be my last log for some time.
Study Log: October 14, 2000
It has been a long time since I last reported. Things seem to lose their interest when you have found that you can't die. I've met my brother. It seems that the MVs3 stopped his disease dead in its tracks. I feel sorry for him after meeting some of the survivors. Their abilities are so different, so amazing. I can't wait to study them.
Study Log: November 9, 2000
Next month I will be opening a school in my old home. The remaining humans have come to hate us survivors, naming us DeathWalkers. They just hate what they don't understand. Its so foolish of them, considering what some of us can do. I still am stupefied as to how this happened. I'm hoping that our family castle's basement will be able to serve as my new lab. I've collected a group of older survivors that seem to have learned to control their powers. I will find out how this happened. I will protect those who were too weak to rise to this gift, and I will teach those who have the way of god. I will teach them how to survive in this world that has grown to hate us. I will....
December 17, 2000
The first day of my school has arrived. I am surprised at how many students have come. My teachers are a brilliant pick as well. God... I thank you.
2005:
The school has been running for 4 years now. It is now at the start of it's 5th year. The school itself is located deep within what was once Austria upon a large expanse of land that is far from any cities of any kind. It has been found that a large amount of normals actually live. DeathWalkers have been banned from many cities. Internet is the most used way of learning about the school.
New studies have found that the genetic changes are permanent and can be transfered to offspring. Therefor in some cities that still allow DeathWalkers to say have banned coupling of the infected.
Basic Notes:
- The school is within it's first term. Since it is a full year school there are 4 terms.
- There are no uniforms.
- Since this is not a typical school and there isn't that many students, people are not split up into "classes". Students are ranked but not separated. Upperclassmen are simple people who have been going there for some time.

RULES
€ Basic Gaia TOS and blah blah blah.
€ Do the rules of the guild to
€ This is a school roleplay so yhea, incorporate school stuff. BUT that doesn't mean we are going to have "schedules" or actually roleplay every class. Things like that die after the first week. This this DOES have a plot and lets be truthful, I don't want this to die. So over all, just roleplay with people even if that means your character is skipping class.
€ BE ACTIVE. I don't mean post every day and yaddah yaddah. I mean, if your new. THROW YOURSELF INTO THE CHAOS! If you don't jump in then you're never gonna get started roleplaying. Remember, we are in the middle of the first term so everyone should "know" where they are and what they are doing. Talk to other people or me in OOC if you need help.

SPECIES
All species are welcome.
Some alterations are commonly reffered to with different names. For example, if it has cat ears and such but looks like a human and can turn into a cat then it would be classified as a Wereling. A dark colored (black or dark blue) person with pointed ears would be a Drow. However, not everyone that was affected changed in a physical way. For example, if they are still "human" but have powers they are simply referred to, like the rest, a "DeathWalker". They are never, at any time, referred to as a human.
