2009's Super Sentai theme is samurai which alone sounds like a winning thing. I don't know a great deal on it other than it appears to have a disc animal theme. Feel free to expand this thread with information and images you guys find and wish to share with us.
What are your thoughts on the next ranger team? Personally, I don't like their look but the samurai theme attempt has already made me excited to try it.

This one looks a lot more promising than GoOnger, which I haven't gotten around to watching yet.

I kinda feel the opposite, oddly enough. I felt excited to watch it just by judging from the suits. It was the same with Gekiranger. I hope it'll be two in a row with Shinkenger.

It's not really disc animals. It supposed to be Emblems with the 5 element's kanji written on it.
I love the Red's buster sword! That was asewome.
The robot looks great though. (I just love anything Samurai.) XD

Last I had read when I made this topic it was rumored to be disc animals or something like it.
Red's buster sword looks like something Cloud would use from FF7 lol
The brief preview I saw has me a bit excited. I still don't fully like the outfits myself but I can tell they will grow on me with time like the Geki and Go-on suits.

I'm digging shinkenger. Its rather serious, but it peppers it with some comedy. The fail gattai in ep 2 was hilarious.

Agreed. Go-onger felt like going to season the show with humor but someone unscrewed the cap on the shaker and you ended up with far too much of the seasoning. This is a nice alternative, having it actually work out with the seriousness and tone of the series.
I'll admit though, I miss the go-onger vehicles and how they talked and had personality to the show. However, I really like the feel of the shinkenger mecha. The way the gattai isn't even a "combination of their souls" or anything. It is so much more simplified than usual, there isn't the weight of needing everyone in sync or having to really tough it out. Maybe they will make that more apparent later or something, but it feels relaxing in a way to have a robot that doesn't require a massive amount of teamwork or training to really use. Just a vocal command.
One thing I am enjoying from Shinkenger so far is the effects with the sword. It is really clever how the spinning discs can be seen reflected in the sword guard and you can see it being animated.

One thing that sticks out for me is how there's been scenes of rangers playing with their origami animals in their non-giant state. Kinda cute.

So far, it's really likable. It's going good for the first sentai season with a samurai theme.
And how about that SSS KR: DCD crossover huh? About time, perhaps? Well, I hope it's good. Though it should have been obvious since there're supposed to be multiple realities.
