Some time next week will be my last day. Layoffs everywhere it seems.
Lots of people are going to have a really tough Christmas this year.

My mom just got laid off. Single income home-Single income=Do the math. King Diamond put it nicely... No presents for Christmas.
Hopefully you'll just find a better job soon Volvy. There's always that possibility.

My step dad just got laid off, EDIT quite due to sexual harassment from her boss

That does suck.
Both my parents were laid off about two years ago and were still recovering from all the debt that put us in. Damn U.S sucks.

yeah when my dad got laid off, it took a while to recover. fortunately, he found a new job that kept him employed for a long while. even more fortunately, the company started not doing so well and he was lucky enough to find another job before they had to lay people off, so he avoided what could have been even more problems

Well Im not really worried. My dad just got laid off, and that worries me more, but I'm ready to be done with my job anyway, so I'm fine with it.
