Alright. So three of my classes are weird and crazy so I don't have a real final for them.
For my Monday class, "But Ain't That America?: Individuals in Society." I have to write an essay talking about what it means to be an American using sources we used in that class.
Also for Monday, my English 101 teacher is making us revise a 10 page paper, and write a two paragraph letter to our 201 teacher. That's our final.
For my Tuesday class, "Revolutionaries: Challengers to the Status Quo." I have to interview some people about one thing/person they considered revolutionary and then make a creative response based off of it.
This means I interview people, and then write a fictional short story. This means that because I'm not artistic, and I hate poetry.
Calculus is also on Tuesday, and is the only class I have a real final for, on the 18th.

ANDANDAND TOMORROW IS MY LAST "WHOSE SELF IS IT, ANYWAY?" CLASS AND I'M FREAKING THE ******** OUT.

I wrote a Solo performance, and I have to go in front of the class and perform it. Which means I'm going to sit in a seat in front of my classmates and talk about being a nerd, and occasionally moving my feet and changing my voice. But I'm so nervous about it. There's one part where I'm going to jump up, point, and yell something. DDD: I'm so nervous, guys. xD I hate public speaking. And acting!?! I totally never expected to have to act out something for a final grade, but I have to.
And at the end of my piece I basically admit to being pansexual. But I totally know people are going to misinterpret it, and I already don't have a lot of friends at my school. xD I have a feeling I'm going to lose the two guys I've been talking to. It's really not that big of a deal, but it's just something I don't really want to deal with.

Is anyone here an actor/actress? xD Anyone have any advice to calm me the ******** down for this?

Omg good luck gonk

I took a public speaking class once, freshman year. I remember moving a lot is really good, because it helps get out nervous energy and helps make you more confident or something.

Just think this - no one is judging you because no one really cares. They will probably be staring at the clock while you're performing, so even if you do make a mistake or get nervous no one will notice. Even if they LOOK like they're paying attention they arent really. Think about it, are YOU going to pay attention to everyone's piece? Or will you just spend the whole time worrying about your own, and when you're done counting down the minutes until you're done with that class forever? It will be like you're performing solely for the teacher, and not for an entire class, which is much less nerve wracking smile

Thanks. D:
I guess I feel a little better, thinking about it that way.
But, still. xD I'm pretty sure the 4 people I've actually befriended in that class will pay attention, and I'll be paying attention to theirs.
xD But, whatever. Thanks.

I'll do a solo performance with you ninja
Wait...

Listen to techno. It's what I do for swimming. I'm assuming it's the same for acting.

BASICALLY my mentality before I do ANYTHING in front of people is "It will only last as long as I make it".

And DON'T picture people in their underwear... cuz it just doesn't happen, and then you're like "LOL UNDERWEAR!" and then you mess up.

AND think Nike, JUST DO IT! Cuz if you just do it then it'll be done and you wont have to think about it anymore. 3nodding

I act so yeah...

My major advice is to just go out there and have fun. The people in your class don't care what you're doing. They will only care if it's funny. If it's funny then you can smile and just go with it. Remember to pause for laughter.

If it's not meant to be a funny speech then the only person that will care is the teacher. And possibly that really loud bitchy girl who's in that class and thinks that she's better than everyone but you don't care because you stand behind her at all of the choir gigs and know that she farts all the time as a nervous habit but she never claims it. But enough about my life.
Act for the teacher, not the class.

Also, whenever I watch someone act my major issue is that they do what I call TV face. We're all so used to watching actors on TV and on the big screen that we forget that our viewers have more than just a face to close up on. They can see your entire body so yeah... remember that I guess...

You'll do fine. smile

It went great. I got the most laughs, and a lot of compliments during our intermission, and after the entire class presented. I got a good grade, and that's all that matters. xD

It did create some awkward moments with my two guy friends in that class, but totally not in the way I expected it to.

I would help you as a fellow actress.....But, I don't really get nervous.(Because I've only really preformed infront of younger audiences.) :/ Just keep in character, and don't let the others bother you. I don't think this would help, but it's good enough to say. My old drama/acting teacher has always said, 'Keep your Teacup empty.'

Would have recommended to perform it like no one was in the room or if you were doing it in front of a mirror but its too late for that. Good to see it went well. ^^
