he was in many great groups: crosby, stills, nash, and young; buffalo springfield; crazy horse; etc. here we may discuss his work, no matter what group he may have been in at the time he wrote it.
i personally prefer his crazy horse/solo (they basically amount to the same thing) material. i've really been digging the albums "after the gold rush," "harvest," and "rust never sleeps" lately. his instrumental work - be it guitar, piano, or one of the horn parts he wrote - is amazing, and oftentimes his lyrics are very deep and profound, meaningful. oftentime; occasionally he does put out some stupid lyrics like "welfare mothers make better lovers." but even when the lyrics suck, the music's still good biggrin

Pretty much everything I heard from him I liked. Also Crosby, Stills, and Nash were never the same without Young.

Sorry to say this to you guys, I blame my father for this, I can not STAND Neil Young, Every time my dad says something Neil related, it makes me want to run over midgets with a golf cart! I don't hate him, it's my dad in a sense, of over exposure which killed any hope of accepting anything of Neil Young's work.
