Funny thing. My sister just said this same thing. "they made holy day holidays" She meant exactly what you explained.
The thing is when my church decided not to do the christmas thing (as the world does) it was weird as first, but as the years go by i have grown to see the fruit of it. Celebration of the wrong things leads to things like depression, stress, lonliness and suicide. Holy days support Love, joy, peace ...all the fruits of the spirit --the characteristics of GOD.
Oh that is awesome! I wish I could see that done in my church. I think a lot of people in my church don't get the idea of Christmas, but who knows.
I think that is really cool though. That celebration of the wrong things lead to things like depression. I know how that feels. I usually get upset at Christmas, or even my birthday because things don't go the way I want. Yet if I celebrated God, then I wouldn't be disappointed, depressed, or lonely.
