How do you cope with losing a pet? I found out that one of my kittens may have to be put down. I'm so scared...

SydniSpiffy How do you cope with losing a pet? I found out that one of my kittens may have to be put down. I'm so scared... Awwz, thats so sad. well, losing a pet can be very hard to deal with. its like losing a friend. but the way i get through times like that is remembering them, and the happy times we had, and that they will always be in our hearts. sometimes animals just have to go to heaven, because they are in too much pain, untreatable, there can be many reasons why, but sometimes its the best thing anyone can do for them, to put them out of any pain they may be experiencing. *hugs* I hope the kitten will live, but if she/he has to be put down, then I hope she/he rests in peace.
PS: If you ever need to talk, then you can PM me, or talk here if you like wink

I'm sorry to hear that you might be losing your pet.
The loss of a pet is a difficult thing to deal with. There are pet loss hotlines and support groups on line. Some of the loss hotlines are staffed by vets and vet students. There are also some good books out there about grief and loss. I have the list at work, but don't have them right here.
But you can also PM me or contact me thru my website www.stjulianscatcare.com if you need to "talk".
You are not the only one who has faced this. It is okay to feel bad if you lose a pet. Don't let anyone make you feel ashamed about your feeling by telling you that it was just an animal or something else stupid like that.
My thoughts are with you!
Shera
