Is anyone else concerned about a tv news outlet telling other media sources what is news?

Personally this throws red flags up in every area of my brain, I don't think we should allow this to happen, consider if we allowed FOX to tell other media networks what the news is, I trust CNN about as much as liberals trust FOX. To me this has bad news written all over it.
