The Constitution states that there should be a separation between church and state though. But yet Christianity is everywhere, even on our money. I don't think they've been doing a very good job at that. If that's the case, then they should have at least say it, not go against it...

don't the dollars say "In God we trust"?
if so, that's not religion-specific.

yes, but it still states church, or religion. God is obviously a religious aspect, so they're not separting church and state. The Bill of Rights are also based on religion
but don't get me wrong, I don't mind it, I just think the Constitution should say if they aren't going to separate them.

Actually, religion is based on ideas humans have had for a long time, like "I don't want to die so I won't kill you and hopefully you'll do the same," so the founders simply took those ideas and put them into a legal form, which had already been done in various ways and degrees in other parts of the world.

So, it might seem like our government was founded on religious ideals, but as George Washington himself said, "The US is in no sense founded upon Christian doctrine."

The U.S. was founded on Christian morals, but they didn't want there to be only one religion in the country-- Why do you think the pilgrims left their respective countries anyways?
I personally think that it's religious intolerance coupled with bigotry that's causing the troubles in our society today.

if church and state combine there is no limit to the crap they can make us believe churches usually take a stand on political issues which i don't think is right if the church sides with the government the government can do anything it want's these two elements are probably the most influential things in most peoples lives put them together and they are unstopable. i personally think that in some cases the government pays off church officials to take their side. but thats just me. i leave u with this listen to ur church when it comes to religion npt when it comes to politics
