perhaps you could try healthier alternatives? lean turkey instead of beef, or even a veggie burger or homemade bean burger.
Or you could make mini burgers. So you'd still get to enjoy the taste (so long as you only eat one) but you wouldn't be eating a full size burger.

It's just harder to enjoy. But yeah, veggie burgers are wonderful.

Weeee, I'm back!!! All this time I was doing pretty good, staying away from meat, dairy, and sugar. right now I only have salmon or tuna once in awhile due to my love for sushi, but that's about it. I've been going vegen while I do my yoga and such. I've noticed a difference when I do water fasts, but only for a day. Things go through my system much quicker and I fell more energy. Pretty cool. For my sugar craves, I eat figs without sulfites . . .but the brand I relied on changed! O_O They're no longer organic and have bad stuff in them, how cruel!!! TT^TT THEN I discovered the Acai Rio Grande Bowl!!! At my raw food restraunt waaay far away from me. it's frozen acai fruit, banana, and something else (?) with granola and banana slices on top, wow, so good!!! And then i discovered a raw 'strawberry cheesecake' that actually tates like real cheese cake with no dairy used at all . . .the secret must be the agave nectat, hmmm. If I had that more often, I'd crave no other fake sugary foods >w< Yummy <3

Feline Anachronism I've been trying to loose a few pounds, as well. It's a bit tough, mostly because my boyfriend is trying to gain weight. It's pretty hard to continue on with salads and such when he's munching on a burger. sweatdrop Likewise, my mom snitches on meat sometimes and I'm like, Hey! Noooooo!!!! Big meanie!!!! and then she tells me I'm good influence . . ..eh, the irony of it all.

If only they weren't so reliant on nuts and other expensive ingredients.

I made a lifestyle change just after x-mas. It had nothing to do with x-mas, I used to work out but I was having some issues with my back and my doctor told me not to work out until she said it was okay. So in December I got the okay to work out again.
I have a very underactive thyroid, even with medication it is extremely hard for me to lose weight, and quite easy to gain it. But I'm proud to say that I have officially lost 10 pounds, and it shows. In the past I have stopped after a few weeks of not seeing any results, but I've stuck to it this time and actually being able to see results has motivated me a lot.
I haven't realy cut anything out, I've just been watching how much fat, sodium, and suger I eat, and I dont' eat carbs after supper. I try to work out at least 3 times a week, sometimes it's not so easy because my work schedule is very all over the place. I usually go to the YMCA and swim 45 minutes, or I'll do a 30 minute run at home. I also do some pilates and yoga stuff, as well as some good old fashioned sit ups.
I think that I'll keep track of my prgress here, that way I can visualize it and keep myself motivated.
Starting Weight: 175 lbs
Current Weight: 165 lbs
Goal Weight: 130 lbs
Weight to go: 35lbs

Hi y'all! Glad you made this thread. It's funny but I was in shape till I joined the military (should be the other way around.) So since I got out its been tough trying to lose it all. I went in a size 7 and came out size 13. From 13 pull ups to none. It sucks trying to get back what I had. I grew out of the majority of my closet. So I decided I'll join you determined people in getting on shape. I decided to transition to vegetarian since I can't digest meat very well. My husband made a joke that it would be more of a vegan diet since I don't eat much dairy to begin with. Growing older can be such a pain. I'm looking to do pilaties, yoga and going to walks in the deliciously warm sun. Beginning weight: 150ish Goal: 127 lbs or size 7 toned This will be a gradual process. G'luck to y'all too!!
