I have recently become interested in steam punk, and I have been wondering: where does one procure watch gears? Any help would be appreciated.

Find a thrift store that has non-working watches and take them apart! That's the easiest and cheapest way, I think. There are specific websites where you can buy gears, watch hands and casings separately, but that can get pricey.

☢ I seem to be 'out of the loop' on this, but yes, a thrift store is always handy. Larger, grandfather clock; or hand watch? What use? Really depends. /irradiate

I was hoping to use some smaller gears for jewelry making, buttons, hat adornment . . . mostly as a subtle steampunk touch to my (already vaguely neovictorian,) every day wardrobe.

There's a site called watch parts dot com or something like that where you can buy mixed gears by weight. You can also find mixed gears on ebay, if you don't like alot of different people having your information.
