Okay, well I have to caps on my teeth (one on each side on the top of my mouth) and the one on my left side gives me some trouble sometimes, but it's been no big deal until now. The weather is changing and that means the air pressure is too. It was rainy and it normally does not rain where I live, and when it would just sprinkle, I was fine, but it poured rain for a couple of days and the nerve in my caped tooth is on fire. I can deal with pain, but not when I can't do anything about it and it's in my mouth.
The day before the rain, it gave me some pressure and throbs, but the day it started to pour nonstop, I wanted to just roll around and cry. It has stopped raining, but there are still a few clouds in the sky and it temp. will not return to norm. until a few more days. It has gotten worse since the rauin stopped, ugh.
This is what I've been doing to try to help it out: Firt, tylenol and advil didn't do crap for me, so now I place a heating pad aginst that side of my mouth and rub some anbesol all over that side of my mouth since the pain travels ALL over, the cap is two teeth from the back, a molar or something. Doing that only takes the piercing edge off so that i don't want to punch my self in the jaw . . . .which I stupidly tried, lolz. So, anyone have any new ideas? I want it to stop completely if possible, but if not, then i'll be prepared for next time this happens and for the rest of now. The pain stays for about 20 min.s and leaves for about half an hour if I'm lucky. The pain even wakes me up at night now and I have to turn the heating blanket on to fall back asleep. Any ideas would be great!!!! I'll try just about anything at this point. It's annoying more than anything '^_^
Oh, and eating doesn't bother it at all, wierd, but i still don't chew on that side.

Go to an emergency room and tell them----most of them have dentists on call who can get you some antibiotics or pain meds. It sounds most of all like an abcessed tooth, and that is an infection you don't want to play with. I know how that hurts, and if it is infected it will only get worse. The cap may have cracked without your being aware of it, and food may have gotten under the cap. You really need to see a dentist ASAP---like days ago. Abcesses can be life-threatening if not treated promptly.

Let us know how you are!

I think this is more like, due to the weather change than anything else, plus I have no insuance right now, much less money, thank you though, I'll look into it. The cap isn't broken, I've looked at it numerous times lately and I don't think it's food because when I bite on it, it doesn't hurt, nor does eating affect it. Thank you though very much. I'll talk to my mom aout that thing, abcessed

EDIT: Okay, so, I looked up that kind of thing, and my tooth isn't infected or I'd be able to see so. The gums don't hurt or anything, just the nerve . ..just, ha! 'just' . . . .Glad it's not that, but it still hurts TT^TT

You can't tell by looking----!

One other option is to talk to a pharmacist and see what they recommend----They deal with pain meds everyday and can give good advice about tooth pain. Maybe they can help some until you can get to a dentist. Find a 24-hour pharmacy---we have Walgreen's here, maybe you have one close to you.

Hospitals can bill for services according to income with very low payments. I had two daughters with asthma who spent a lot of time in the emergency room when they were small. We never could have paid those bills all at once! Just ask them if they can set up payments---I bet they will.

If it hurts badly enough to punch yourself in the jaw, you need to see someone who can help you.

You could try some clove oil, I don't know how well it works because I've never needed it, but I hear it's very good. Might not make a lot of difference if you're in a lot of pain, but may be worth a try.

clove is good. I know if I eat anything that has lots of clove it makes my tongue a little numb. xd

It has been about 8 days now and I am having no pain like I did, so i'm not sure about the reason for it. We're broke on money, so lucky for me it's gone; hopefully for good. The tooth is a bit sensetive so that I can't bite down on it and i'm sticking to soft foods. I deffinatly will try clove oil/foods now for certian if it acts up again. Thank you all for your concern!!! heart
