who: Ombrascopio, Edwin & Veritas (perhaps Sothis later if needed) what: an encounter when: While the Elric kits are still kits where: the library at Trel's house why: to 'flesh out' the kits so to speak; to see how they deal It was surprisingly empty in the library today. In a shadowy corner a dark green tipped ear flicked very faintly with mild disappointment. It would likely not remain so unoccupied for long. Huffing softly to himself -so soft it made no sound and barely moved the black fur beneath his nostrils much less the pages of the book opened beneath that- the green kitsu continued to read in silence. He may as well take advantage of the solitude while it continued. This place was always full of comings and goings though it did keep up being a quiet library most of the time even so. Still... this was not his family, nor really his home. As such, Ombrascopio preferred to be left alone unless he sought company.
Which was seldom if ever. He was more likely to seek a teacher than company.
How long had he been visiting -and often staying- in this place? Not long after he had grown to a teen, perhaps before. Coming across Remus Lupin when the wizard had visited headquarters a time Ombrascorpio had actually been interested in the library there. Of course Remus had invited the youth to sometime see his library if it was all right with his parents. Which led to the wizard learning Ombrascopio's lineage. It had intrigued the youth to see the elder kitsu so quietly happy and excited. Enough that he had nonchalantly accompanied his grandfather's old schoolmate to see this incredible growing library.
It had been everything he had been promised and Ombrascopio almost hated to admit he had been impressed. That was probably why he would return, and sometimes stay on as a guest at the House in Bass'ken woods. Though if it were anything but as magical as it was he would not tolerate it.
Too many kitsu.
At least here in the library he was relatively safe from the most annoying of those that lived in this place. Most of the time.
Still there were kits around. Sure, he had become friends with Remus' youngest son who was not long an adult now but Sothis even as a kit had been nearly as odd as himself. About the only kit-like thing Sothis did were little 'pranks' from time to time. Kits were another matter all together. Having never been anything of a playful kit himself Ombrascopio neither understood nor had much patience for them.
Thankfully none were around right now. Thankfully no one was around right now.
It was pleasant, going through the enlightening tome beneath his paws. Ombrascopio lost track of time as he made his way through the pages, practicing bits of 'theory' of his kind that were surprisingly apt & useful. Before long he was nearing the end of the book and feeling quite content with himself.

White hair flung in a flurry mess as a small body dashed its way across the hallways, the thudding sound of lengthy braid echoing after the kitsu disappeared. Only for a small squeak to be heard and seconds later to see the same kitsu coming running back towards the main room. In a mad dash, that is. "'S'cuse me, pardon me, coming throuuuugh!" The young male bounced and pounced over the beanbags and leg rests of the room, bubbling out apologies to whoever he may bump into along the way.
How could he have forgotten? How could he have possibly....just.....UGH! Scrunching his brow angrily, Edwin finally found the door he was looking for some distance ahead. Nails scratched and scrapped the ground as he made to slow his pace. A success....though with the help of the door slamming him in the nose to halt his sliding.
"Owwwww~"
Spending a digruntled green gaze to the door, Edwin huffed while shaking his braid from his shoulders. Now then, if he remembered correctly, his tool belt should be in the faaar left corner of the library. Hopefully it was still there...

Most of the household that dared the main room chuckled or smiled or were otherwise amused as they got out of the way (or in the fae's cases, tried to follow) of the little kitsu that streaked through the room. Young of all races were adored here, in all their many ways. Even though he seemed frantic most were not worried. Surely if it was dire a telepath would have picked up on it, if no one was asked for help directly. So they went about their business, perhaps a bit more glad then before.
All but one. Golden eyes blinked up from over a beanbag where another long-haired and winged kitsu kit had been playing with some of the small & playful creatures of the very strange and magical house while his 'twin' was busy elsewhere. Those eyes watched a moment, almost overly bright against the background of the kit's black fur. The head tilted. What was his brother in such a hurry over. With a grin Veritas stood and in almost the same motion bounded after his brother. He did not know... but he was bound and determined (not to mention curious) to find out!!
A white tipped paw came up quickly to cover his mouth as a burst of laughter nearly escaped seeing Edwin careen into the door. No matter that his own paws (and wings for balance) were undergoing a sort of dance in response to said motion just to keep upright and moving forward while at the same time not alerting Edwin to his presence. Not yet. Veritas wanted to see first what it was had his brother so in a hurry. For the moment anyway. Veritas was after all a rather normal and playful kit -complete with an often short attention span. Particularly when not reigned in.
He lept through the magic door into the visible library after his brother before said door had a chance to swing shut. "Eeedwiin!" He called gaily, wings flapping once as he aimed with little experience to land upon his sibling. Veritas landed before saying else, grinning broadly. "Whatcha lookin' for?"Very lightly the green and black male winced. It was more like a closing of his eyes and a faint furrowing of his brow ridges -barely perceivable but there nonetheless. Kits. It would have to be kits. And from the sound of it, at least one was the playful sort. Dark green tipped ears twisted faintly at the silver bands upon them as their owner thought. He did not need to open his eyes to see them: Their scent came to him clear enough. A hint of family resemblance to Sothis... hmm. His older sister's whelps then, most likely. Ombrascopio remembered being told of them.
Too bad he might be forced to meet them.
Especially too bad, for the sullen 'prince' did not realize his chosen spot was all too near the object of acquisition being sought. So close... he could reach one black stockinged forepaw to his left to touch it.
