Tomorrow's obviously Thanksgiving, and there's going to be tons of delicious food! Traditionally, my close family would go to my grandma's and we'd meet our uncles and cousins, and have the meals there, but since my grandparents are getting older, we're not really getting together over there anymore and we're just going to have it at our house, without cousins or uncles. My favorite part actually isn't the pie, it's the candied yams - you melt butter and brown sugar and marshmallows and bake it with sweet potatoes in the oven, and it's delicious!
• What does your family typically do on Thanksgiving?
• When you have your own family one day, will you keep the same tradition?
• Do you cook the stuffing inside the turkey or outside?

Yay Thanksgiving!
Well at this point, my dad always has to volunteer at the chow hall, serving food, so our family tradition is to eat there. Since I won't be military, no, that won't be my family tradition. XD I don't really like it that way either because, today? We're eating dinner at noon. o.O We used to eat dinner at 4, which made sense, because it gave us time to work up an appetite and took care of both lunch and dinner, but this way, I won't be hungry, and I will be hungry again in four hours.
Sigh. sad

My favorite part is the pumpkin pie.
It's usually just me and my parents (there and be friends over before and a few times we go to someones house but it's usually just us).
I usually just eat stuff like mash potato, corn, and rolls. I don't care much for turkey, ham, yams, or stuffing (I've always been very picky).
They rarely make turkey, just ham usually.
As for my own family someday? If my future husband likes to cook then sure because I would only use the oven or mircowave (hate the stove), if not then things may be different.

We used to have my mom's family over at our house on Thanksgiving, but now as my cousins' kids are getting older, they're starting their own traditions. Still, my mom makes almost everything because she loves it, my dad helps with the turkey. My aunt and uncle came over this year, so'd my honorary aunt and uncle.
I enjoy it. There's family, and tons of food, and apple pie and lots of happiness. There's a lot of work that goes into it that just pays off in full. I'd love to have a big meal with my family someday when I have my own family. I'd probably want my parents there too; my grandparents have always been there on thanksgiving, I'd love to have my parents there for my kids. Then my mom wouldn't have to cook a big meal for just her and dad. Wouldn't have to cook much at all, really.
And both! Though I prefer the stuffing outside the turkey. Crisper. Mmm you're making me hungry again Lorysa sad
