Horse lady
So during one competition before my time in band, one of the guys in the drumline was marching backwards on his heels (he was a freshman at the time, but he learned from his mistake!) and he fell backwards, doing a somersault, and getting back on his feet and back in step without missing much of a beat. Apparently it was so epic that the judges didn't take many/any points from that.
Another time I just had an epic failure. This past season, I dropped a swing flag. They were really light things, and I was switching hands, and I've NEVER dropped one before, but I dropped it. I picked it back up quickly, but the point is that you don't drop swing flags.
oh yes dropping a swing flag is pretty bad and i most unfortunately have done that before.
One time this past field season during practive it was really windy but we were out there tossing anyways (ugh) and there was a part with swing flags in our routine where we extended our arms as far as they could go and the wind took my flag (ugh again). It went about five yards over and at least ten back. So needles to say I got to spin air flag for awhile until i could run and retrieve it.
I have utmost respect for anyone who can proudly say "I have dropped a swing flag."
