The one creature that is cursed to roam the world forever, its only mission to purify the darkenned souls that have strayed from the path of god. In Life Kanda has been an excorsit with a heavy burden placed upon his shoulders. Quite cold and rude, Kanda comes from Japan. He was a disciple of General Tiedoll and used to hate the way the man treated him. He refused to die until he finally found "a certain person". His death trapped in a mystery it is unclear wether he finally met that person or not.

His death was dubbed a suicide since the circumstances under which it occured were quite obscure. There was no one appart Kanda who could have commited the crime in the way it was commited -simply because no one else could unseath Mugen- however it was highly unlikely the proud male would do something akin to commiting suicide. After his death there were rumours it was forced. Others said it was the scourge of god because he had commited a terrible sin. The outcome was still the same and none could clarify upon his death but Yuu Kanda himself... thing which he apparently would not intend to do for many years to come.

As mysterious as is his death so is Kanda's revival. He simply 'rose' on day, waking to the world a demon in essence now. It was upon his awakenning that he received his mission. By whom, it is unknown, if asked he will claim he just 'knew', some say that he saw God whi gave him Himself his mission, cursing him at his death. Either way there's no definnite answer to this question.
After death Kanda's embodiment is a Kyuubi Yokai (nine-tailed demon) resembling a kitsune (fox), a fitting reincarnation concidering his origins.

Ever since his death Kanda is literally being a phantom. Both for the world of humans as well as his own. He is called by the name of the Plaguebringer and only little people know his true identity -those being only really old spirits-. It is said that he comes riding on the western wind carrying destruction with him. His appearance means certain death and sorrows.

Kanda travels in his demon form, a nine-tailed fox -usually black in color, but there are sightings of him with blue and silver fur- he uses a ghost-form of his Innocence, Mugen in order to 'cleanse' souls of both living and those dead. He claims that his oad will be endless until he finally manages to reunite the eight lotus flowers that represent the sin of men.

In general Kanda's abilities have to do with shadows and manipulating darkness and kitsunebi.
He's excesivelly vulnerable against attacks that are based on the element of Light.
