Kalan shot the other drow a decidedly grouchy little look at that, pale eyes fierce for a moment, "Not, you most certainly do not deserve to lie on your sword for any long.. If at all!"
His eyes widened again is something a little akin to shock as he was held close again and fidgeted upright into a sitting position, flopped against Zakn's chest.. And well.. Across his lamp.. He was convinced that the other male must have been getting holes in his top with the temperature his cheeks must have been reaching.
"And uh.." He started, hoping that is he could talk for long enough he'd stop feeling so disgustingly self conscious. He hadn't felt this way for many many years.
"Well.. I was down here because.. A family I work for occasionally in the West-Dark have a pet that's notoriously good at escaping there home.. And god knows why but.. His tracks seemed to be heading in this direction.. But I uh.. Lost him a while back I think. But either way I need to try and find him for them, or else it's prooooobably not worth me heading back.."
He didn't dare to move too much, unsure or where he could really move himself TO with the other males hold on him..
It didn't surprisingly, feel too bad though..
"Either way.. At.. Least I have someone to help me find my way home again.." He paused for a moment, nose against the other males chest as he listened to him speak.

Zakn chuckled at Kalan's rather adorable little bout of outrage, and once again, lifted his hand to ruffle that adorable fluffy, spiky hair. "Regarding the pet, I can help you look if you like.. after I've had a bit of a rest..." he wouldn't usually admit it, but by Lloth was he shattered. He'd not felt this tired in a really really long time. Running was all well and good.. but at full pelt... on bad terrain, and then with another guy on your shoulder... well.. all in all it kinda took it out of you... "I really wouldn't mind..." He let his head tip back and rest against the wall, his blue eyes slipping closed for a moment.

"Of course I'll help you home though..." he stated, "It would be unkind of me just to let you wander...." He shifted his hand. letting his fingers brush over the fabric of Kalans shirt... and then... he paused for a moment as he found his fingers trailing suddenly over what felt like bare skin...

The blue eyes flickered open again, and he looked down at Kalan as if he was looking properly for the first time.. "Lloth..." he muttered... "Well, It looks like I owe you a new shirt.. I am sorry... I was trying to make sure you weren't too damaged in the fall..." he shot the smaller drow a highly appologetic look.

Kalan made a small fairly non-committal noise, rubbing his nose against the broad shoulder in front of it for a moment, "No no.. It's okay, I'll find him soon enough, or he may even return himself home when he's had enough of hunting and terrorising other drow. He does that sometimes. I couldn't ask you to help as well after.. Well."
He made a ever so slightly grouchy noise, "I owe you.. You don't owe me."
He quietly sighed, not really appreciating having owe another drow anything by means of favours, "Thank you.. FOr.. Well.." he mumbled a little, not inaudibly, but well. Muffled.

THe smaller male stayed quite still and quiet for a moment as he at last managed to reign in his ridiculous emotions and calm himself down before he managed to pull away from Zakn's shoulder, grime and all, to peer up at him, his expression guarded but relatively calm.
"You.. Can take as long as you need. I highly doubt I could make you get up and lead me somewhere more familiar even if I'd wanted to.. You're a giant.." He pulled a little bit of a face at him for a moment, mocking him gently though the admission did give him an uncomfortable twinge in memory of another drow he'd known a long while ago. That was in the past now, and it would not do to dwell on such matters.

"Wha..?" His expression changed again to one of confusion, looking over his shoulder to try and see Zakn's hand for a moment, then paused to simply look down his front, plucking at the shirt.
"Oh this.." he grimaced again, a different sort, more of annoyance, "This was.. Nothing to do with you. I'm ashamed to admit that the other half was in fact stolen.. By a most.. Idiotic friend of mine, you owe me nothing of the sorts.." he looked up a little and couldn't stop the amused little expression that slowly crept into his eyes at the look of guilt and concern.
"Stop that.. It would be like.. Me saying that this was my fault..?" He reached up carefully to tap under the other males scarred eye, "Looking at how worn the edges of my shirt are, it should be fairly obvious that it's nothing new.. Like that."

All the explanations did seem to make sense, and Zakn couldn't quite work out why he had been so ready to take the blame, the responsibility and make a vow to ensure all things were set to rights... was he really so desperate for continued interaction that he would be willing to bind himself to another for the sake of replacing their shirt..?

It seemed to be the case sadly. He really was something of a fool when it came right down to it....

"You don't need to thank me." He stated with a small shrug of his shoulders, "And I shan't need to rest for too long, just a little longer.." he would never admit how tired he was, not a chance, by Lloth. He wasn't going to appear weak in front of... well... this total stranger! No! Appearances mattered, by the Goddess, and he was going to keep his up!

For some reason...

Why by the spider did he care so much...?

It couldn't possibly have anything to do with those beautiful pale blue eyes, that fluffy have and adorably curvy, yes... curvy hips could it..?

Nah...

With a slightly wide eyed, confused expression he tried to focus on the finger that was raised to tap against his scar, and when he found he couldn't his eyes closed in a warm smile as he chuckled, "Ah, I suppose you are right, and that was certainly no doing of yours..." Though his side was going to hurt for a while... oh well, totally worth it... whatever it was...

As his eyes flicked open again, his smile continued. "You should probably think about getting a new shirt anyway... it does get cold down here..." then, in a moment of absent minded behaviour, he shifted slightly to just touch his nose against the finger that had been touching his cheek, the silly little smile still playing on his features.

Kalan just couldn't help but mimic the smile that Zakn wore while he nosed at the smaller drows finger, though it wasn't quite as silly as Zakn's it was probably one of the first true smiles the smaller male had managed to produce in a long long time. With a very very soft, almost inaudible chuckle he gently tapped his finger against the taller males nose then stroked his fingertip down to the tip of it and gave it a small tap.

"Well I guess you'd better rest up then, huh? I.. Don't like to stop once I start moving again.. It makes me kinda tense.." He admitted.
Why was he admitting it, he had no idea. There was something most peculiar about this male, he made him.. Feel quite at ease.
The mere though that he was allowing himself to sit across this total strangers lap, to lean against him and to.. Well, he was admiring him.. A complete stranger. For all he knew he could have been an assassin sent to kill another one associated with the G'eld house..
Yet here he was, being this.. Calm with him when by all means he should have been fighting tooth and nail to get some of his personal space back.

"The shirt..?" He tore his eyes away from the other males to look down at himself a little dumbly for a moment. He was.. Disgustingly handsome, well built with a beautifully sculpted face, the scar didn't detract from his looks at all.. And he had the most amazing hair..
He was totally concussed or something..
"Yes.. I.. DO mean to replace it, in fact I did once or twice.. One shirt disappeared and the other.. Well, half of it went missing, like this one actually.. This one is just a lot more comfortable to wear under my rather sparse armour."

The finger running down his nose made the taller Drow grin again. "I am resting... I won't need much longer" He stated, bopping his nose back against the finger again, the smile once again lifting his lips. It was becoming some kind of weird game to him, but it was amusing him regardless. It was very strange to feel so easily comfortable with someone else as he did right now.. flopped on the floor with another guy using him as some kind of mattress, but... for one reason or another he didn't feel the need to push him away. Usually... well... usually he'd have been on his guard. He was an unusual one to begin with with his strange hair, black instead of white, his very vividly blue eyes and of course his ludicrous height.

Usually that would have set him on his guard... some would call him a renegade, some an elf-blooded-heather, some scum of the surface world, and some surface spawn... and it wasn't just this other's demeanour that kept him calm, for some reason he just wasn't finding him a threat... holding him as he was he knew that was a ridiculous assumption however. The smaller Drow, Kalan was strong, there was no way he could deny that, slim, yes, possibly in need of a few square meals, but strong... his slender form felt somewhat willowy, and he carried a sword, which meant he was a very definite threat.

So why wasn't he worried..?

Maybe it really was those lovely eyes...

It wasn't exactly abnormal practice to lure someone into a false sense of security and then off them, that was standard procedure if you could manage it, he'd used it himself once or twice on some really difficult opponents... but... he just didn't get that sort of vibe here at all. "Well, I suppose I can see why you've not hurried to replace it again.." he stated, moving th e second hand that was still resting on the others back to brush his fingers over the edge of the torn shirt, the rip was indeed an old one, and clearly done with something sharp.

"We can probably move soon... soon-ish anyway.." he stated, "It's gotta be getting late into the evening by now.. you can feel the night chill in the air sinking down from the upper levels...its one of the reasons this area is so unpleasant, so many openings... and beasties of course..." He looked down a little to smile, once again at his smaller companion. "We wouldn't want to keep you out too late, huh...? And don't fret, I won't stop us once we start walking again..." By the Goddess his back and a** were sore though...

The little nuzzles and even just the way the other drow was grinning only made Kalan smile all the more as he stroked Zakn's nose fairly sedately with his finger, still.
"You did say you didn't need too long a little while ago.. Are you sure you don't in fact need.. Rather a long while more..?" He teased him ever so gently then looked a little mortified a moment later. He shouldn't have been doing things like that in case he pushed this strangers buttons and he reacted badly.
"Not that I meant that at all.." He mumbled quickly, dropping his hand from the other males face swiftly, his gaze also ducking away from the taller drows bright blue eyes.
"Hmm.. Yes.. My clothing just seems to be a constant drain on my gold, it just makes sense to make do where I can really. If I knew that I would have been spending time in these tunnels then I would have bought a little more to wear. I don't really fancy the cold at all."
PostPosted: Tue Nov 25, 2008 1:41 pm

The suddenly withdrawn reaction made Zakn blink a little, then he internally shrugged it off. Kalan had probably just realised how odd their situation was, sitting together like they had known each other for many years on the floor of an unused tunnel. It really wasn't the sort of thing you usually did... not at all. So it was pretty natural that he might have started to feel somewhat uncomfortable about it all... had he been different in his make up himself, he probably would have done as well. Especially if he was sitting in a strangers lap... then again... the stranger would probably have been flattened by this point.

"Stop worrying." He stated simply, shifting his arms back around Kalan again, slotting them under the smaller Drows, around his chest. Once that was done, he simply braced himself back against the wall, pushed himself forward with shoulders, and used the momentum to push himself up to his feet, pulling Kalan with him. "I don't have anything with me by way of a cloak either, so I'm afraid I can't offer anything better than to get this walk home under way as quickly as possible... that'll be the best way to make sure you don't get too cold, huh..?" He asked, looking down to try and catch the other set of blue eyes with his for a moment, before reaching down to grab his sword, and clip it back into the odd fastening on the back of his chunky shoulder armour. It was almost magnetic, the way it held the blade in place, and it made for a very quick release

Kalan kept his eyes averted for the time being.. Well until he felt strong, thickly muscled arms around him yet again, then he looked up a little, sightly wide eyed as Zakn leant forward fairly suddenly, making a quietly surprised little noise as he suddenly found himself..
Dangling..
He wore a fairly stunned expression, his arms sticking out sideways as he was being held up by the other male underneath them, like a kitten.

"I'm not worrying." He retorted sternly, even if it was a bit of a lie. Why show a weak face..?
"And.. Put me down.. Please.." He couldn't help the slightly stern tone to his voice, he was in fact still worrying, worrying that he was showing weakness, worrying that this male that he.. Found to be incredibly.. Amicable in every way.. Was suddenly going to turn on him, or worse just leave him lost in these unfamiliar tunnels.
"If you wouldn't mind, I mean. I would appreciate it."

His skin rose just a little into half formed little goosebumps as he was firmly reminded that it would be wise to get a move on out of the caves, and quickly.
"Uh.. Lead on, I will follow..?" He offered as he dusted himself off and made sure that he wasn't missing any of his kit. It all appeared to be present.

Zakn just laughed at the others tone of voice as he set him down, not cruelly, not mockingly, just good humouredly. He felt much better for the rest he had taken, by the Goddess he really did. He would still sleep well tonight, but just being still had reduced the ache in his legs almost fully, and he was able to move again without being in too much pain. Tomorrow would be a different story, he'd be stiff as a board, and not in the good way, and he knew it.

He talked fairly cheerfully most of the way out of the tunnels, falling silent when he felt a need for care or concentration, but that was irregularly at best. A number of obstacles, like piled high rock falls had to be navigated, but it wasn't as if it was something he hadn't done before, so it was little bother for him, and when he thought the other needed it, he was more than willing to help Kalan out without offering and making a big deal out of it, he'd simply, and almost absently it seemed, reach back and just offer him a hand.

The house of the G'eld family it seemed was the desired location. He and his brother had both worked for them before, and he actually knew the location surprisingly well, he had a good memory to places and layouts. It helped you not die on the horrendously difficult missions the suicide squad were sent on... if you came back alive you were usually damn good. And though it was immodest. He was damn good.

When house they were aiming for came into sigh, its ominous wood and metal door built into the wall of the tunnel itself for added security he reached out a hand and rested it on Kalan's shoulder with a smile on his face. "Is this okay..?" He queried, "I have heard this house can be strict... would you prefer me to wait while you enter, to ensure you are not cast out again and...yeah..." he trailed off again, it was a silly offer since no one would lose their way once this close to the city... maybe he really didn't want to end their meeting so suddenly.

Kalan hadn't at all minded the seemingly endless trains of thought and conversation that flowed from Zakn on the fairly lengthy hike back to the G'elds premises in the WestDark. It was odd, normally he would have preferred to travel in silence to better hear anything on the approach, but his.. Dare he say it..? No..
His.. Friendly companion seemed to know all the right times and places to lower his voice to listen out or choose a correct path, it was.. Actually rather pleasant and Kalan was for one f the first times in his life happy to reply and quip with the other male.

He was actually rather disappointed when the familiar borders and gates loomed out of the darkness, re-enforcing the knowledge that he was now to part ways with his abnormal companion.. And though he would not admit it, he was going to miss him, he thought.

"No no.. All should be well. I don't reside here but no doubt I will be some time relaying my findings to the appropriate person. They don't mind finding a small room for me to rest in when I'm working for them.. So I wouldn't worry yourself, not that you are." He responded to Zakn's little queries, at long long last looking up at the tall males face once again since he last broke eye contact back when Zakn was 'resting'. He even smiled at him a little, reaching up to touch his fingertips to the others knuckles on his shoulder.
"I suppose this is goodbye then. Many many thanks for.. Helping me." He nodded.
PostPosted: Tue Nov 25, 2008 3:08 pm

Zakn pretty much just nodded his way through most of the comments Kalan had made, he was perfectly willing to stay if he'd been wanted, but he didn't plan on imposing if Kalan didn't require him... it was a shame though... he was gonna miss the cute little guy, and sadly, the chances of him running into him again were pretty damn slim. He himself was on the move a lot, and he'd be out of here in the morning for a good few weeks...

That was a pretty long time, and chances were, as Kalan it seemed didn't live here either, the chance of them meeting again was little to none...

Was he bothered by that...?

"Well, as you're quite okay here then I'll be off," He stated, I have a trek tomorrow so I should get some rest..." as he spoke though and almost impish smile lit up his face, and probably before the other Drow had any chance to do anything, he leant down and pressed his lips firmly against Kalan's in a brief, chaste kiss.

That done, and the grin still there he lifted a hand, jogged two steps backwards before turning and fleeing off into the tunnels again..

Oh well... if you weren't likely to see them again...what could it hurt to steal a kiss...?

"Hhmm.." Kalan nodded in agreement, "I'm sure I should be getting along as well, no doubt I'll be out again looking fo-" He was cut off, quite suddenly with a kiss as he had mumbled his reasons for them to part ways..
And almost as soon as the kiss had started, it was gone again, and his.. Friend was disappearing off into the gloom. He lifted a hand in response, looking rather stunned..

"Bye..?" He squeaked a little, touching his fingers to hip lips as he turned to the imposing doors once again, his expression confused with a tiny hint of a smile hidden away there as well.
Time to face the music and tell all on his pet hunting expedition..

As he opened the door he was pounced upon,
Looks like he shouldn't have bothered tracking him in the first plcae.
