Shot from Meeting History. People say that's the Stone of Jas. It would make sense. In fact, there was mention of Melzar refering to it but calling it a cabagge... Which it does look a bit of.
One theory, and seems to be a really good one, is that this is the actual Fist of Guthix. Notice the imprint.
Now, secondly is the pic of the rune. Although it looks a little like a Water rune, the color is different. And the Water rune is seen flying in the foreground, while this rune is flying in the background. Some believe this is the Arcane rune, and believe an Arcane spellbook will be a reward from this quest.

I have looked through all these threads, and it seems like everyone has forgotten about him! Do you guys not remember his prophecy at the end of The Path of Glouphrie??? Well I went through and transcribed it, and here it is:
Hazelmere: "It is even more important now that you understand your future. There will be a time of great change and you will do a great good during the time. At times your task will appear impossible, and it will seem as if the power of Guthix, which you will seek with mighty intent, will slip away even after you prevailed so hard, but don't give up hope."
You: "But that's about as clear as mud!"
Hazelmere: "Stop joking around and listen carefully. This is important. Skilled brothers, numbering eight, will assemble to fight the mahjarrat deceiver, and they will be heading north to confront him. The time after this is... clouded to me, but I see you clearly, dressed in the evil robes of night, lightly decorated with ochre like burnished gold and the rust colours of autumn leaves. Though the robes represent an order of evil, you will not follow that path. You will remain true to Guthix. Of the eight, only two shall return; one represents the path of Slayer and one the path of the warrior. This might have been different, but I have made my choice, and it is up to you to prove that I made the right one."
I've been able to discern some things from it. For example, the part about the robes we'll be in. Zamorak robes. Don't believe me, go check in the Manual, under Construction, then Workshop, then check the Zamorak banner and equip. It matches exactly the description given. But other questions still remain. Who are the eight brothers? One represents the path of Slayer and one the path of the warrior... could one of them be Arrav? Quote from the lore about Arrav, "Legend tells us that a mighty hero was born near the town we now call Varrock, but no record of his birth or parents were ever found."

It goes on... "A wandering group of travellers seeking sanctuary from the goblins and ogres that infested the land found a human child while following a river on a day when both sun and moon were mingled in the sky."
Therefore, it is possible that these eight brothers were separated at birth, but will reunite in the coming quest to fight off some "mahjarrat deceiver." Could this be Zamorak? After all, he was once a mahjarrat, but rose to be one of the gods. Could Hazelmere be refering to him as that because he is really a mahjarrat, but deceives people into thinking he is a god? Also, he deceived Zaros, the "empty god."
Also, I do believe Lucien and Zemourgel are one and the same. We are told that Lucien has obtained the staff of Armadyl, or we give it to him in the Temple of Ikov quest. And the guy in the banner has what appears to be the staff of Armadyl. Yet, the banner guy is also a splitting replica of all other depictions of Zemourgel in the Lores, and also from that cutscene in Defender of Varrock. Also, in the Ghostly Robes miniquest, you find that Lucien was "pre-occupied" during the attack on Zaros, but Zemourgel was there. Maybe Zemourgel is another form of Lucien? Lucien could be the staff-wielder, while Zemourgel wields his double blades? That's my justification for Z*, as MMH refers to him as (yes, I'm trying to get it to catch on ) being Lucien.
Back on the brothers, another brother could possible be Vannaka. He is a slayer master, and therefore could possible be the one who follows the path of Slayer who returns (after all, you can't exactly take away a slayer master haha). Also, he looks, especially in the old tutorial island, very similar to Arrav in the cutscene in Defender of Varrock.

Now, if you're gonna have to dress up as a Zamorakian to spy on Zamorak in this quest, this obviously this is what this prophecy speaks of. Later in that thread it is theorized that with Arrav and Vannaka, the the warrior and slayer, that the Barrow Brothers will be the others... The 6 who will not return. Possible, since they could be necromanced yet their spirits still exist in the mini game.
Another possibility could be all of those Mahjarrat who had headed to the North, since it states that 8 will head north to confront him. Sure, some are Zamorakian... But then again, perhaps Zamorak isn't the Mahjarrat Deceiver. However, I'm kinda thinking he would be. Hell, the Zamorakian Mahjarrat could easily betray Zamorak... In fact, Zamorak may have already ticked them off. Or they could be after his power. In any case. We'll see.
One other possibility I was just thinking of could be that the brothers are Dragonkin. Kin being of family, much like brothers.
One other thing I'm thinking may happen is that this may be a cliffhanger quest. I believe this will be quest # 147. All those big quests land on the 50s. So, it's possible that the 150th quest will be the conclusion of this quest.
