ok, i was just elected asst. drum major. and i really have no clue what i'm in for. can people please help me?

Well, it's different wherever you go. Helping the Head Drum Major conduct pieces, helping the students learn to march, or helping with formations. Being a general you-know-what's-going-on person...That kind of stuff.
I think.
Wouldn't know for sure.

the closest to a drum major ive ever benn is in the billy moore parades and drum line perfomences where i made sure the other snares werent screwing around and were on time and keeping the bass drums in line

Well, the entire marching band at my school says that the dram majors all have the hardest job, because they get little to no time for breaks. But that's just my school.
