Fancy stuff Onicoe!
We're going to my husband's cousins, so I really don't know what to expect other than delicious turkey. I am baking an apple pie. I would love to make pumpkin pie, but it seems that no one's a big fan of pumpkin pie crying I gotta find me a slice somewhere though....
@Pierced Pixie....german chocolate sounds so yummy!

I'm not sure what we're having. My grandmother sometimes makes Thanksgiving dinner, so if I eat a big meal it'll be there.
I do know that sometime this week my friend Tracey and I are making pumpkin pie, straight from fresh pumpkins and with handmade crust whee We'll probably end up making five or six pies because we have a looot of pumpkins... And still have pumpkin left over.
One of them we're making with a crushed pecan crust to keep the carbs down, because her mom's on the Atkins diet.

Last year we did Thanksgiving from Mimi's Cafe. It was pretty good. Sometimes it's cool to just order the meal like that. Whole Foods sounds so much better though. 3nodding

You crazy Americans and your November Thanksgiving! xd
Deviled eggs, really eh? Eggs were never a thing with us at Thanksgiving.
What I had in October was: turkey mashed potatoes mashed yams carrots Brussel sprouts *shudder* stuffing *yum* gravy broccoli wine jello
Man... now I wish I had an American friend so I could snipe off their holidays.

@ Artistic Mystic: You can cook and freeze those pumpkins of yours.
And speaking of low-carb crusts, my sister does a crust made from Scottish oatmeal and coconut. It's really good.
For dinner, here's what we'll have going on (as far as I know)...
-Pierogi -Green salad -Pumpkin cheesecake -Green bean casserole -A can of cranberry sauce
Yes, you may notice that the list is quite small, but awhile back we kinda rebelled against the traditional huge Thanksgiving meal. It was such a pain to get together - surely working in the kitchen all day and facing the huge mess afterward isn't necessary to feel thankful for something. wink

We're having the smallest Thanksgiving dinner ever here. With everyone so far away, Christmas will be the big one this year---we'll be cooking and eating for days!
We all got the best Thanksgiving present ever, already---the soldier from Baghdad surprised his wife and daughter about a week ago. Just like the movies---knock at the door, she opens the door and just stands there in shock for a moment, with the daughter saying, "That's my Daddy! My Daddy is home!" You know the rest---
Thanksgiving dinner will be:
First, a tray of nibble material to keep people out of the kitchen--black and green olives, pickles, raw veggies, stuffed mushrooms
Roast beef with carrots, potatoes, mushrooms, and onions Broccoli and cauliflower with cheese sauce Green beans with garlic butter Mixed green salad Stuffing with mushrooms Mashed potatoes and gravy Rolls and butter
Probably brownies for dessert, since it is all so non-traditional this year
We'll probably take all weekend to eat it all, since there are usually so many more people here----but that's not necessarily a bad thing wink
Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!!! biggrin

We had a great Thanksgiving. Although I forgot my apple pie at home crying Now my husband have a whole pie for ourselves to eat this week.
Someone made a pumpkin meringue pie, it was so delicious and fresh! I have to get the recipe. And my in-laws made cranberry sauce with raisins that were soaked in jack daniels. It was really neat to see a lot of the things made were made with fresh and real ingredients.
