Ohshiohshiohshi! Irit had chosen her target poorly today and was being chased by a rather irate, honey-covered zebra. She wasn't afraid of getting HURT. The pale cub was more afraid of getting all that sticky honey all over HER! And matters weren't helped when she saw one of her siblings in her pathway. Red eyes wide, she squeaked and nearly plowed into him.
Not bothering to register which brother he was, Irit just took one look back and gulped. "You uh....might wanna start running."

 Shangwe was enjoying his nice little nap on a long rock, sunning himself contently without a single care in the world. So of course it was the perfect time to have something happen that would completely ruin the otherwise wonderful moment. Grunting, he heard what sounded like a small stampede heading his way, opening his eyes and sitting up perhaps a little too slowly in reaction to that kind of thing.
Gasping, he saw his sister heading her way, ducking down in a feeble attempt to not be hit. Turning his head after her, he arched a brow as best a lion could. "Wha...?" looking the other way, he finally saw what she was running from. "Holy crap!" Yelping, he sprang after her, darting over the grounds to try and catch up.
"What did you do?!" he called to his sister.

Irit laughed sheepishly, trying to make it seem like an intended blunder (not that she was fooling anyone).
"I kinda...Forgot that particular zebra is kinda hard to sneak away from. And well...as you can see, I used my patented honey-dump on him." She grinned as she spotted what she was heading for: a cave-like spot in a pile of rocks just big enough for a cub to fit through...but not a zebra. "Come on! We can hide in there!"
With that, she ducked into the space and scoot to the back of it so her brother could fit and they could still avoid the zebra if he stuck his snout in.

“You’re crazy!” Shangwe laughed, though he wasn’t upset. He liked having a little adventure in his life, so being chased by a pissed off zebra covered in honey really wasn’t that big a deal for him. Plus, it was his sister; how was he supposed to be mad with someone he was related to?
It was impossible.
Leaping to the cluster of rocks, he wiggled himself after Irit, getting his slightly larger frame in without too much trouble. Moving back, he made sure he kept enough distance from the entrance of the hole, just in case the stupid grass-eater tried to fit its head in.
Once the panting from the excursion subsided a little, he looked once more at his sister. “If you’re not more careful, you could get hurt!”

"Better than being normal!" In the safety of the rocks, she let herself full out laugh. Nothing better than the rush of adrenaline after a narrow escape.
She waved a paw at her brother. "Pfft. I always have an escape plan. I was more worried about YOU getting hurt, since you were in the way." She blinked and looked at him suspiciously/worriedly. "Are you okay?"
Despite her penchant for trouble, Irit really did care for her family. Especially her litter mates. And now that she wasn't trying to escape a raging zebra, she noticed the brother she'd escaped with was Shangwe.

Though flustered from the chase, Shangwe heard his sister’s laugh and was quick to join in. There was no point in denying it- it had certainly been entertaining. In a completely horrifying kind of way, of course.
At least no one had gotten hurt.
Batting her paw with one of his own, Shangwe grinned. “I wasn’t in the way!” protested the young pride lander with indignity, “you were the one who led that thing towards me! You could have gone another way. I’m okay,” he added with a smile, “just a little surprised! I thought we were both going to get trampled for a little while there.”
Purring contently, Shangwe moved towards his sister, affectionately giving her a rub with his head. He was fond of his siblings, even if it did feel like he didn’t get to spend enough time with them.

Irit giggled. "Maybe. But I had to be thinkin' on my paws. Wasn't sure HE'D have been able to turn as well as me." She snorted. "Adults have such a poor turning ability."
She returned the headrub, purring. "So what were you up to, before my glorious interruption?"

“I don’t even remember now!” Shangwe yelped in response, “I was… having a nap! A nice nap about lots of different kinds of food and you came along and woke me up!” Oh well, there wasn’t really anything he could do about it now. Nor did it seem like he would be returning to the dream world any time soon.
His heart was still thudding in his chest, keeping him alert.
“I think you should take naps more often- stay out of trouble that way!”

The paler cub snorted. "Naps are all well and good but..." She giggled. "Dreams are NOTHING compared to the real thing. Like, like...fresh antelope. Mmmmm...Think maybe Mommy will catch antelope tonight?" That was her FAVORITE. So juicy and tasty, without being all fatty. She licked her muzzle, then shook herself.
"Besides...you miss out on all the AWESOME stuff when you sleep it all away."

“I don’t know what mommy will catch!” he said quickly, “I didn’t ask before I nearly got trampled to death! I guess antelope would be good.. thought I think we have it too much! Mommy always gets it cause she knows you like it.” That probably wasn’t true, but they did have it a lot. He didn’t care what they ate, really, as long as it was meat.
But it was fun to see if he could make her feel SOME kind of guilt. So far… no. Nothing.
“I think dreams can be pretty awesome, and not nearly as dangerous! Maybe you should give it more of a chance. You might not dream the good dreams cause you’re not asleep long enough, you know?”

Irit blinked. And then looked slightly guilty. "Well...I guess you're right..." Did her Mommy really do that? She'd have to talk with her. She didn't want her siblings' favorites to be neglected because of her!
Well...Shangwe did have an interesting view on things. "Maybe." It couldn't hurt her to try it ONCE, right? "I'll give it a go sometime soon. See if you're right."
