I don't recall really witnessing a lot of deaths in my life. The one I'm talking about now wasn't that of a human, but rather an animal. The death just, shocked me, because, well, it seemed, well, it was terrible. I admit to being very sadistic, and I admit to imagining much worse than what I saw today, but perhaps it was because the animal was there, and not a surreal "character" in a daydream of mine, that it just, left a bit of an impression.

Well, My friend and I tend to do some adventuring quite a bit, so her and I, before going to the mall went to a pet store. Well, while my Mutti and Brother were looking at birds, I went into the reptile section of the quaint little establishment.. quaint probably isn't the right word, but I'll be nice about the place. WELL. There was a small "Dragon"-Lizard, and they had just feed it that morning, they placed two mice into the cage with it, and it had eaten one of the mice, all it could eat, I suppose.

Well, the other mouse had been in the cage since the other mouse had been devoured, and the poor thing was shaken. It was trembling, twitching and hiding. Then evantually it had began to move out of it's corner, and began going towards the lizard.

Now. Damnz isn't one of those little bitches that freaks out when a reptile devours it's prey, that wouldn't have bothered me at all, that's not where this is going, at all.

However, what had happened was that the rodent approached the Lizard, and then stepped on it's tail, the Lizard responded by lifting it's tail slightly, and pulling back, it was not in the mood, nor did it want to be pestered with the mouse, no longer hungry, and digesting the other animal. The mouse responded to the moment by jumping back. The thing was very frightful, and it was obvious, though for some reason, for a second time, did the same thing, though this time, upon the Lizard's movement, the mouse flipped backwards, landed softly on the bottom of the cage, proceeded to tremble a few more moments, and then, it ceased to live.

It didn't quite, shock me, really. Truthfully, it didn't quite disturb me, however, it's just something that, ... lingers. My friend and I stood there minutes later, asking back and forth if it was dead, or just laying there. It was interesting.. to say the least. Saddening, somewhat, however, intial reaction to the thought of it dying made the two of us laugh aloud, though when he realized it was dead, we quieted.. and laughed again.
