My advice is take it very slowly. Once you've cleared out one area, rest up and only move again once your stamina and health are replenished.
And I'm afraid I'm not on very regularly or I'd help. I'd suggest waiting outside of the gates though. Everyone gathering to enter the pass wait there. Just go there and ask if anybody is forming a crew that you can join.
