{At Hokepi springs, 7:00 PM}

Helios dared not touch the water. Not even close. 'I might become a water palui' He thought. 'or just get really wet'. Helios was a red fire palui, and he had been for as long as he could remember, though he couldn't remember much. Water and ice were his enemies. Water and Ice plaui were his enemies as well. Until recently.

Helios froze still just thinking about her. She wasn't frightening, like Naito, but instead very. . .Shimmering, and kind, much unlike any other palui he knew. Especially being a girl...Girls were bad, right? So far, he hadn't any male friends, or any friends at all, so why should her start with a blue, female, ice palui? She was the total opposite of everything he was. Yet, he was still thinking about her. 'What AM I thinking?! She's an ICE palui! That's never good news!' Helios shut his eyes tight, mentally waving his thoughts out of his head.

Helios was staring deeply at his reflection, looking at the water focused and confident. Helios was determined to do what he wanted to do.

Helios had no idea what he wanted to do.

Bue walked down the slop of the Mt. Kapu, heading down to the Hokepi spring, ever so bored...Their were so few ice Palui...And not many were really nice. She sighed and shook her head. It was sad and lonely for her. Her golden eyes searched the summit one last time..Nothing. It was time to head down...Down to where the fire Palu she met the other day was. Helios...

Sure, ice and fire should not mix but...He was...Handsome. That was for sure. Sure he was a little rude at first but seemed to chill after she spoke to him...He even blushed! He was a cutie. She wanted to talk with him again. He was nice to her. That was when her eyes focused apon the fire male by the spring.

He was just starring at the water. She stopped for a moment, canting her head slightly before moving over to the male and sitting beside him. "Helios?"

Helios reached his head down to try to drink from the glittering spring. It reflected the colors of sunset, which left a orangeish/pinkish hue shimmering over it's surface. His tongue was at tthe tip of the spring's surface, before "HELIOS!" the fire palui stiffened at the voice, jumping so far he nearly fell into the water. With his back arched and his fur sticking straight up, her stumbled backwards to look at the voice's source.

There she was. By happenstance, interrupting him just while he was trying to forget her. The truth was, he never did, and never was, going to forget her. She was especially special, if that made any sense. As if it wasn't hard enough to forget her specially special personality, her eyes, and the ice around her sparkled with a gloden hue. Helios was attracted to sparkling things like a moth to a bright light. It was going to be impossible to stop staring at her glitteriness.

Suddenly, his body didn't want to move. At all. Helios felt a sudden lump in his throat that he had to swallow; which, of course, he didn't want to do because that would make him look silly, and embarrassed... She would think he LIKED her or something...And he didn't, right? 'Do I like her?' Helios nearly thought of drowning himself at that thought. 'No, Helios, you don't! She's an ICE palui!' He told himself. Helios found himself realising something. He didn't really care that she was an ice palui.

After what felt like years of just sitting thare awkwardly, Helios cleared his throat to speak. "He-hello there, Blue!" He said eagerly, furiously scartching his chestfur out of nervousness. "I should have known you'de be here- y'know, with Mt. Kapu and all..."

The female looked up to the summit then back to the male. "Ya....Doesn't much feel like a home though. I find myself wandering around away from the mountain rather than living on it...Not like their are many ice Palui...Not many nice ones at least." She shrugged, which caused a few golden shimmers to appear on her fur.

"Though I'm wondering what your doing here? I thought fire Palui like to hang around Mt. Manu? Seems odd you'd be here..." She said looking at him. Then again she shouldn't have been near him either. The general rule was to stay away from fire...Fire made ice melt. Fire was hot...Fire...Was by water and ice. Her thoughts trailed a bit, wondering. Some inner demons told her to go back up the mountain...That was where she belonged. But she didn't want to go. She wanted to be here...With the fire. Talking to Helios. This thought made her smiled as she curled her tail around her paws. He seemed nervous though. What was going on?

Helios couldn't remember why he had come there... Blue had every reason to be there, considering she was an ice palui. "Well, I guess I came to look at the spring." Helios was pondering how stupid of an answer that was. What could he say that WOULDN'T sound rushed and nervous?

"I generally don't like water, but this one is calm and sparkly and pleasant. I..Uh...I'm like the water, in a way." Helios said, averting his eyes to look at the spring. Helios brushed his paw through the liquid, creating millions of tiny ripples throughout it. "When disturbed, or nervous, I make horrible everything is scattered." Helios waited for the ripples to smooth out, and for the surface to become calm again. "But when I take time to relax, things become clear again." Helios smiled at Blue, hoping that he made sense.

The female nodded and brushed her own paw in the water, only to have the water freeze up at her touch. She had forgotten about how cold she was to the touch and laughed nervously. She watched the ice float of the surface of the water, little golden flecks trapped within it. It was a nice point though. She didn't realize he could be so...Deep...

"So how about that walk?" She said trying to take his attention away from the ice on the water. " Can't say I've seen much else of the island besides the spring and mountain." Blue always knew she was going to attune to either water or ice she she had lived on the mountain previously. She flicked her tail slightly and smiled to the fire male.
