Florica watched at the green painter came down to join her in the cool water. She paddled around calmly as Mal entered the pool. Florica watched Mal relax as she slowly floated around on her stomach. She looked up into the sky, the canyon walls cowering over them like giants. Suddenly her face filled with slight panic.
"Uh Mal...? We almost forgot about our small companions..."
Florica was still swimming around in the pool as she looked over the comfortable Mal.

Ohhhh, and she had just gotten comfortable. The water was nice and cool and soothing on muscles that were starting to inform her just how much they were going to complain tomorrow. But... Well, peace like that couldn't last for more than a few moments. Not in her life. Not that Mal minded -- she wouldn't have it any other way, in fact.
When Florica spoke up, Mal couldn't suppress a guilty start that sent her spluttering half-out of the water. "The little tyke!" she yelped, wings thrashing to clear the water's surface and catch enough air to lift her. Florica's familiar could fly, the little gryph could probably catch up with them given enough time, but her tubby little corn baby would have to trundle down the canyon on foot. Taking wing once again, she glanced to Florica. "I'll be right back -- or are you coming?"
