Ok, I have two close range weapons- my katana I started out with and Slash. The two work together great because I can usually time it so I just keep hitting. So I did a couple of quests that gave me new rings and I picked two long range ones- solar ray/beam (whatever) and Shark. My other rings are healing halo, meat, bandaid, defib, and rock armor. I'm not sure about the usefullness of halo and rock armor, since meat and bandaid together almost bring me back to max. So, which long-range should I keep?
And another question- should I get a shield-type or crowd-control type ring and which ring should I replace with them?

I voted Solar Rays. However, I really think they are both good. Shark seems like it is really strong when you give it enough orbs, and my level 5 Solar Rays does the job for me (along with my shuriken and slash).

Ive never tried the shark one but I've yet to be disappointed with my solar ring...

look, why don't you have both? shuriken is low damage comapared to solar ray and shark
guns ring i find of slower recharge rate, also...it has low damage with rage, and solar ray beats that...at same cl...
i got equipped mantis, hack, slash, solar ray, shark, diagnose, defib and fitness ring (i doubt the usefulness of the last one)...cuz diagnose (with rage) brings me back 120+ hp and to any ally, so it's very useful alone or in group...

I don't know how powerful the shark ring is, or how long it takes to recharge; but the solor ray one is a good ring. It recharges pretty fast and can do alot of damage once you level it up. So I would use the solor ray, but you may want to keep the shark one. In case you decide to that one later on in the game.

Azure Alexea Ive never tried the shark one but I've yet to be disappointed with my solar ring... I'm the same. So far I've only used the solar ring.

I use the solar ray, hack and slash. Just got the shark ring and havent gotten a chance to use it yet.

I just got the hack and slash so now I'm rotating between it and the solar ray. It all depends on which one is charged and how far away I am from the target. 3nodding

I use the solar ring mostly, and the fire rain when they surround me. I have yet to try some other ones I have collected, but I'm still relatively new to the zomg game. I still haven't beaten them darn gnomes for that one guard.... Plus, I cannot get to places like Bass'ken Lake yet until I do. I do have fun trying all the things out though, it's a great get-away.

Don't worry. I'm still fairly new to the game too. A crew I was in took me to Bass'ken Lake though. It's pretty nice but I got dazed a lot. xp I like using my fire ring every now and again too.
