Hi ^^
I've been meaning to get to making banners soon ;o I will on a weekend coming soon *coughs*
Well to make a banner, you first need some kind of editing software.
I usually use photoshop but diff people have other preferences.
Then just play around with it a bit and you'll have a banner^^

If you don't have photoshop CS3 I have one word for you...bit-torrent.
Making a banner is relatively simple once you have the software but you can also do it in paint.
Just drag a square of colour into the dimension you want, put a little text on it and voila you have a banner ^_^
Gimp is also useful.
