Fashion before comfort. The little phrase had become Ana's motto for the winter, but she was quickly beginning to regret that. It was atypical of the weather in Los Demones to actually get truly cold, but today was one of those atypical days. Sure, it wasn't freezing, but her outfit certainly wasn't appropriate for this autumn 30° weather. A fashionable leather coat that covered her short skirt, worn over tight black leggings. She wore brown boots over the leggings to keep her feet warm, but her legs were still freezing! But hell, at least she looked good for any paparazzi - not that there were any after her for a shot.
Sure, her hot dress during the Walk of Fame Dinner was a smash hit and got her a lot of attention in the modeling business, but she wasn't anyone huge yet. And she was fine with that, for now. She enjoyed her newly found fame, no mater how little of fame it may be.
She hurried on into her favorite coffee shop, Moonbucks, hoping a nice mug of hot coffee would keep her warm. She waited her line to get to the barista and quickly made her order. "Hello, can I get a grande sugar-free non-fat vanilla soy Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha with some whipped cream and chocolate syrup, but only a little, and can I get that extra hot? Thank you." Her order came out like flurry of words before the barista even had the chance to speak. Some would say she's bossy and too picky. But she finds those terms to be rather disrespectful. She's a girl who knows what she wants and isn't afraid to be forceful to get it. "Oh, and my name is Ana."
Ana then gazed around the room and found a nice green sofa to sit on while she waited for her coffee to be made. She reached into her bag and pulled up a rolled up magazine - People. She turned to a page with all the stars who showed up at the Walk of Fame dinner. The best dressed and the worst. She looked at herself, listed as one of the twenty hottest people on the red carpet for the evening. It always made her so proud when she looked at it, so she kept the magazine with her at all times.

COFFEE. COFFEE. COFFEEEEEEEE...
The word repeated itself over and over through Bret's head as she trudged down the sidewalk. She was exhausted. Competely and utterly thrilled, but exhausted. Between the frenetic rehearsals, performances and trying to keep up on her voice lessons and choreography, things were starting to eat away at Bret. She honestly didn't mind though. This was what she wanted! So it was a good kind of exhausted. Coffee would help.
She was dressed for the weather in dark blue jean slacks over victorian-esqe granny boots. A frilly white blouse under a heavy navy pea coat and a pale orange scarf completed the outfit. And, as usual when she was out, she wore shades. Her hair was still in messy ringlets from the night before, but she'd managed to tame them into some semblance of fashion.
Finally she arrived at Moonbucks. She practically skipped in and over to the counter. "Hey there! Can I get a grande of whatever your coffee of the day is? Lots of cream, no sugar."
She paid and made sure to tip. She never ordered anything fancy, but it was always a good cup of coffee and worth it. Chilled fingers wrapped around her cup, she headed to have a seat when another customer caught her attention. A lovely brunette that she was pretty sure she'd seen at the agency, or at the red carpet event. Amy or Anna or something.
What the hey. The worst she could tell Bret was to buzz off. She walked over and cleared her throat quietly.
"Uh hi. I'm Bret Andrews. I believe we both work with Walk of Fame Agency?"

Ana looked up at the new girl with a pleasant smile. She was always delighted to meet another star or client from the agency. And did she say her name was Bret Andrews? Ana had heard of her before - on Lorenz Milton, of course. If Ana remembered correctly, she is the believed love interest of soap opera star Oz Parker. It was either this Bret...or it was a boy named Brett. Ana may soon be the one to crack this mystery!
"Yes; yes we do. My name is Ana Cruz, I'm a model," she said with a broad smile, reaching out her hand for a friendly handshake. "I believe I've heard of you actually. Or read of you, at least." She paused for a moment, realizing that outside of a possible relationship with Oz, she knew nothing about this woman. "So, what is it exactly that you do with the Agency?"

Bret grinned, though her eyes showed that she was slightly puzzled.
"Heard of me, really?"
Her part in Wicked wasn't enough to get her name really out there, though she was pleased to hear the director was telling other directors about her.
One of Bret's biggest mistakes was not to watch the red carpet event later on tv. She hated those kinds of things, plus she was there, so why see it again? As she had spent most of the night to herself, she hadn't heard about what Oz had said about her.
"Uh, it's a pleasure to meet you, Ana!" she said, returning back to the the present. She shook the girl's hand before taking the seat next to Ana. At this point, she figured Ana wouldn't mind.
"I'm really still new, actually. But I'm a stage actress. Musicals, mostly. Hopefully. Though I love choreography as well. You're a model, you said? That's really neat!

Ana laughed when Bret was surprised that Ana had heard of her. Her laughter was very feminine, but not very girlish; no, her laugh was very womanly. She controlled her laughter quickly and let Bret continue. When she was finished, Ana explained. "Yes, I read of you on Lorenz Milton. The website is LorenzMilton.com, its a valuable website. I believe it said you were in a relationship with Oz Parker?" she asked, not trying to sound like she was prying for information too much. Her question was more of a statement, really, said in a very matter of fact tone.
"Stage actress? That must be lovely? Have you performed in anything recently?" Ana asked, now closing up her magazine, rolling it back up and shoving it back into her bag.

Bret took a long drink of her coffee. She was gonna have a slightly burned tongue, but the delicious coffee was worth it. She peered at Ana, still confused.
"Ah yes, I've heard of Milton. That obnoxious celebrity blogger."
Then the rest of Ana's statement hit home.
"OZ? Really?! Well, that's strange. I've only met Oz once. Over coffee, actually. Weird that we would be seen as a couple only knowing each other that long."
She realized she was rambling, so she stopped herself and had some more coffee before focusing on Ana's other questions.
"Ah, yes! Actually, I've been performing in the chorus for the musical Wicked. Have you heard of it?"

"Wicked? Of course I've heard of it!" Ana said happily. She loved Wicked, it was by far her favorite musical. She felt that she could relate a lot to the character of Glinda, but without the over hyper activity. Ana looked up at the barista counter as her coffee was placed on the Pick Up table. "One second," she said as she made her way to get the coffee, then sat back down. She took a sip, her body instantly was heated.
"So, you said you only met Oz once of coffee? Interesting," Ana said, taking another sip of her drink. "I think he actually told Lorenz that he was interested in you, or something. I'd say that's a nice level of flattery."
Ana crossed her legs and put her drink down on the coffee table. "What's it like doing the show? It must get exhausting, performing almost every night! But a lot of fun, I hope?"

Bret tried to digest Ana's words about Oz, her fingers drumming on her coffee cup.
"Really... Well, I hope I get to see him again soon so I can ask him about that."
She tried not to sound too flustered or blush. It was hard, though. Oz liked her? Really? She barely knew him!! She made a mental note of immediately scouring Milton's website when she got home.
For the present though, she wanted to get to know this Ana better. She wanted to have some friends here in the city. She grinned.
"Yes, it's exhausting, but it's so much fun. Getting to see the kids' faces and hear the audience ooh and ah and laugh. It's really awesome. And what about you? What's modeling like? Having to do swimsuit shots in winter and bundle up in the summer?"

"Oh, I love modeling," Ana said, leaning back in the sofa a bit. "Photo shoots are a lot of fun, I don't mind what they tell me to wear, not that I've been involved in many shoots." She tapped her fingers on the cushion of the sofa, then leaned forward again and picked up her coffee, taking another sip. "So, Bret, did you go to the big Walk of Fame Dinner?" Ana's night at the dinner was one she'll always remember, it was certainly a lot of fun and very eventful. Nothing scandalous per se, but she not only had the opportunity to be with her dear friend Riley, but also got to meet some superstars whom she had always admired.

Bret grinned sheepishly as she tucked an errant strand of auburn hair behind her ear.
"Yeah, I was there, though I may as well not have been. I tripped over some poor guitarist on the way in and then spent most of the night standing in a corner. Let my nerves get the best of me I guess.
She laughed suddenly as she shifted in her seat, tucking a leg under her. "Though I suppose the night wasn't completely devoid of excitement what with this whole 'Oz thing.' I'm sorry I didn't get to see you there. It certainly was glamorous. Especially for someone from a really small town. The biggest parties we ever had were held in the high school gym."

Ana laughed as she took another sip of her coffee. "The dinner was indeed glamorous, it was all very lovely," Ana said. "I hope Joanne Lakes didn't give you to much of a trouble on the red carpet." Ana didn't have any issues with Joanne, but she knew how investigative Joanne could be. Ana had prepared for her interview at the carpet. In fact, she had prepared for the entire evening, planning everything in advance and practicing so she can make an impression without things going wrong.
Bret mentioning her parties in the high school gym sent Ana into flashbacks momentarily. She still fancies her old high school days. But that was neither here nor there. "Where did you grow up?" Ana asked out of politeness. She never really like to discuss people's pasts. Its not that she was uninterested in hearing about their's, but she didn't like to feel obligated to share her own.
