Bridgette has been sheltered all of her life. Daughter of a wealthy landowner, she was brought up on the outskirts of Mt. Silver, the ancestral family home. Her father is more modern though, and the family also have a large home in Goldenrod City. However, an advantage of growing up around Johto's most ominous mountain has given her an affinity with Ghost-type Pokemon, in that she isn't frightened by them and actually thinks they're rather sweet. Her father however, a very experienced Pokemon Trainer himself (he's never without his faithful starter, now a fully-evolved Ninetales), feels he doesn't want his only child running around wild as a Trainer. He wanted her to become an eminent scientist, or doctor, and had her studying all hours of the day and night. Bridgette disagreed, however, and left her home and riches behind. Now, (extravagantly equipped with what she took from home, but otherwise penniless) she heads for Tohoku, to get as far away as possible. She loves her father, but her high level of education has allowed her to see that she cannot be controlled by him forever. She often recieves worried phone calls from her mother, and Bridgette does not want to lose her father's love, but has commited to becoming the greatest Pokemon Trainer she can be. No matter how intellectual she is, she has very little common sense, and finds travelling alone very difficult. Her social skills are minimal, but she works very hard at bonding with her Pokemon. Making friends with people is a little trickier, but she tries. Her goal as a Trainer is to become expert in battling. She uses her already intelligent mind to work hard at stratagems and type alignments, but quickly learns not everything about Pokemon can be found in books.
